First time out for a rated event and they placed 6th in the .70’s and 7th in the Jr/Am Jumper Classic!

This duo is just getting started and we can’t wait to see what all they accomplish as a team!

It’s that time again! Registration is now open for arguably the best week of every year… CAMP CABALLO!

•Campers ages 7-17
•Horse experience highly recommend but not required
•Space is VERY limited and will first be open to barn members, returning campers and then general public.

✨ New (familiar) face in the barn alert ‼️

We’re so excited to have Phoenix join us for a little while as part of our lesson program thanks to Camp Caballo Co-Founder / Barn Bestie ! Nix has been a camp staple and favorite for the past several years and we are so thankful to have her to love and enjoy during weekly lessons while her mama is busy becoming a soon mom-to-be.

She loves to be groomed, trotting and extra treats after her lessons! 🤍

We braved the first REALLY cold day we’ve had in Florida and tackled a horse show at 7AM with a trailer full of frisky ponies!!

It was the first show for a few of our riders so kudos to them for taking the first step of tackling show riding vs lesson riding - it’s a lot to handle your nerves and in turn the nerves your transmitting to your horse! It takes so much hard work, time and patience to get here… and then a lot more of all of that to connect the dots in competition. Everyone handled themselves so well and learned so much today!!

Amory - 1st place in GP
Karoline- 4th place in GP
Ariana - 6th in GP and best dismount 😎

Caylee - 1st in crossrails
Amory - 5th in crossrails

Kam - 4th in 2’6, 2’9 and 3’

Congratulations and great rides by all of our riders! We’re excited to keep working in lessons and tackle new challenges at our next (hopefully slightly warmer) show!

Today was one of those REALLY GOOD DAYS! The kind of core memory you’re going to hold onto forever.

Beautiful weather, the best company and fantastic rides by ALL.

Caylee piloting Lola to 3rd in crossrails for her first trip out over fences, ever!!

Alaina and Savvy took the win in both 2’ and 2’3

Kam and Mercury took first in 2’6, 2nd in 2’9 and 4th in their first trip out at 3’

Way to go girls and way to represent The Barn of Lake City!

Our next show is December 1st! Come watch, come ride or just come start lessoning and join our fam, we’d love to have you!

Big day yesterday at Mahan Farm for The Barn girls! We traveled to Tallahassee for Alaina / Savvy + Kam / Mercury’s first CT and 3 phase!

A lot of learning, a lot of fun and a lot of great rides by both girls!

Results:

Alaina and Savvy : 1st in starter CT, 4 and 6th in 2’3 jumpers

Kam and Mercury: 8th in starter eventing, 3rd in 2’6 jumpers

We also got to see our very own forty and his new rider Maddie!! Who took home a 3rd and 5th in 2’3 jumpers for their first trip out together. So fun to watch!

Looking forward to many more in the future and hopefully bringing along some of our younger riders to future events!! 🐎

Monday update!

We are still without power but we have a generator running the well thanks to Matthews Electric and we have began clean up thanks to Brent Lyons & Fueled outdoors! Can we all agree that hard times make you extra thankful to be loved by great men?

If you need help with anything electrical give them a shout at 386-344-2029 and Fueled Outdoors off highway 90 (386-438-5540) has all your saws, generators and clean up needs covered 🤍

🐴 Lessons are back on as scheduled for the week

Please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early as horses won’t return to stalls until power is restored so you might have to walk a bit to catch your ride unless you get lucky and they’re at the front gate thinking it’s feeding time 😎

Thank you to everyone who has reached out to check on us at the barn! Unfortunately I have ZERO service unless in town so I apologize if I haven’t responded.

We are all safe. We have extensive tree damage but none of our main structures were damaged, thankfully! At this time lessons will be suspended until we can restore power for water to be able to make sure horses can be properly cared for after being ridden.

We are working on getting this taken care of within the next couple of days / hopefully power is restored before then.

We will reach out to keep everyone updated about scheduled lessons best we can.

Thankfully this storm had little rain so we are NOT flooded.

Prayers for everyone affected and we appreciate everyone’s support and love for our barn family and horses 🤍
