Hey there, awesome clients! 🐾 We've got some exciting news and a little bit of a hairy situation to share. Due to the overwhelming popularity of doodles in our area, our grooming salon is currently experiencing a doodle overload! 🐶💨 We've got more doodles than we can handle, and it's becoming a bit of a fur frenzy.

So, here's the scoop: starting today, we'll be taking a temporary break from accepting new doodles. We need to catch our breath and make sure we can give every pup the love and attention they deserve. We promise it's not a permanent "paws-off" situation, just a temporary pause to regroup and make room for all those fluffy doodles.

We know it's ruff news for doodle owners, but don't worry, we'll be back in the doodle game soon! In the meantime, we're here to pamper and primp all the other fabulous furry friends in our salon as long as they’re under 50lbs. 🐾

If you have any questions or need recommendations for other groomers who specialize in doodles, just give us a bark! We're here to help. Thanks for understanding and being the best clients ever! 🐶❤️

Just to clarify, we will continue to groom existing clients’ doodles. 🐾

We are all booked up for the remainder of the year! Thank you everyone for all the love and support you've shown us over the years! When I first opened back in 2017 I was unsure if we'd ever make it this far, but we have, BECAUSE OF YOU!

If you're a returning client from 2023 and are wanting to be added to the 2024 schedule and have not sent your information, please get that to me as soon as possible.

We are aware of the dog flu situation. For the safety of other clients and our personal pets, if your dog is presenting any of these symptoms please do not bring them in to be groomed.

I will be happy to reschedule your appointment once your dog is seen by the vet and has the all clear.

If your dog is brought in and appears to be unwell, we will unfortunately have to send them home. This is nothing personal, we're just trying to prevent the spread of this highly contagious sickness.

We will continue to apply the necessary sanitation practices to our salon to help stop the spread of any illness that may walk through our doors.

If you are worried your dog may be affected by this illness and you feel you need to cancel future appointments we completely understand.

We are adjusting closing times this year!
The new hours are as follows:
Monday-Thursday: 7am-5pm
Friday: 7am-3pm
Closed: Weekends & Holidays

Unfortunately we are going to have to go up on prices again. This is nothing personal, it’s just the way of the world these days. We completely understand if we need to adjust your schedule due to the increase.

If any of this information changes, or your pup unfortunately passes, please inform us so we can update it in our system.

We strongly recommend a 4-6 week grooming schedule to guarantee you will have pre-booked appointments this year.

It will also lead to a better all around grooming experience for your pup and the staff - ie: better coat condition AND happy, stress-free pups as a result of being familiar with the grooming process!

We will be filling up fast since we are taking in new clients again. If you’re planning on referring anyone please let them know that we do have a 60lb weight limit due to kennel space.

Please keep in mind “once a month” appointments can range between 4-5 weeks since there are more than 4 weeks in some months.

Pre-Booked appointments will be able to be adjusted or cancelled if needed, so don’t worry!

As a reminder our hours are 7am-5pm(Monday-Thursday) 7am-3pm(Friday)
(Closed on weekends and holidays)
We greatly appreciate a swift pickup once you’ve been informed that your pup is ready, if at all possible. As much as your dogs love us, and we love them, we all know they’d rather be home with their families!

DROP-OFF
Drop-Off is between 7am and 10am and we will be enforcing the $15 late drop-off fee. We have a drop off slot for the safety of your pets! Late drop-offs cause disruption in our routine and disruptions lead to distractions which may lead to injury… which we try to avoid at all costs.

We will continue to ask what time you need to pick up since we are aware each day is different. Please let us know if you need to pick up at a specific time so that we will have plenty of time to finish the groom. Rushed grooms can lead to stress for the staff and the dogs, injury and bad haircuts.

If you are wanting to pick up early it’s best to drop off early so the groom is not rushed.

NO SHOWS
We understand that life happens and sometimes you can’t make it to your appointment, but we ask if possible that appointment changes be made 48 hours in advance or you will be considered a no show. A $20 no show fee will be added to your next scheduled appointment. If you have more than 3 no shows-no calls in a row your appointments will automatically be canceled because we assume you’ve gone elsewhere.

FLEAS
If your dog has fleas we will let you know the first time we find them, note it in your file and ask that you please get them under control before their next appointment. If at the time of their next appointment they still have fleas a CAPSTAR will be administered orally and a $10 charge will be added to your invoice. (Capstar is a 24 hour flea pill that starts to kill fleas in 30 minutes. It is safe to take with other flea and tick medications.) We do not want fleas to spread to other clients’ dogs just as you would not want your dog to get fleas from our facility.

PREGNANT DOGS AND FEMALES IN HEAT
If your female is in season, we ask that you please hold off on grooming until her cycle is finished. Having dogs in heat in the salon will cause the rest of the dogs to act out of sorts.
�If your dog is pregnant it is best not to groom her - the stress, even if she is used to being groomed, can cause her to resorb the puppies or miscarry. Instead, get a good short clip before she is due to be bred so that she will not need clipping for a good while.��Similarly, it’s best not to clip a nursing dog - taking her away from the pups early on is not advised, but later (assuming she is used to leaving the pups) is fine.

SKUNKED DOGS
There may be a small fee added to your bill, depending on the severity of the smell, to compensate for the extra product used. If you dog has been skunked and then wet we will not be able to help with the smell much. Musk is an oil and as soon as it gets wet it sets into the skin and hair.

We’ve had clients prove that using a mixture of dawn, peroxide and baking soda will work but you have to do it as soon as the dog is skunked, before it gets wet.

Google says the best solution for skunked dogs is:

(DO NOT WET YOUR DOG, APPLY MIXTURE TO DRY HAIR)

1. ¼ cup of baking soda.
2. 1-2 teaspoons of mild dishwashing detergent like Dawn.
3. 1 quart of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide solution.
4. Mix in a bucket and use immediately.
5. Work the foaming mixture well into the coat.
6. Leave on for five minutes.
7. Rinse with warm water.
8. Follow with dog shampoo if desired.

🦃 Don’t forget Thanksgiving is coming up!

This is a reminder that we will not be open the week of Thanksgiving (11/20-11/28).

🐾 Even if your pup isn’t ready for a haircut we can still freshen them up for you. The mini groom is a step down from the full groom package - no haircut is included, but they still get a nice trim.

Position: Dog Bathing (we do not do cats).

You must be 18 years of age, have a reliable vehicle, be able to work Monday-Friday 8:00am to 12:00pm(sometime a little longer). No weekends!

DISCLOSURE:
THIS JOB IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART OR LAZY ATTITUDES, but there is a chance for growth.

You WILL be working with live dogs. Sometimes they’re grumpy, nervous, wiggle butts, and old & frail or young and jumpy.

You will be asked to clean up:
•poop, p*e, puke, glands, and drool.

You must be okay with touching:
•icky residue on beards, eye gunk, gross infected ears, butts, females in heat, stinky dirty dogs, dogs that will have funky skin and the occasional flea and tick.

You will be expected to:
•keep a clean work area; that includes sweeping, mopping, wiping walls, taking out trash, cleaning the tub and kennels, etc...
•get all dogs clean to the highest standard and dry in a timely matter.
•be okay with physical labor.
•lift close to 70lbs(team lifting will occur if needed for larger dogs).

No experience is required because I want to train you myself to meet my standards, but you MUST be able to take instruction. If you are not comfortable around dogs then this job is not for you.

IT’S STICKER SEASON Be sure to check your pups pads, in between their toes and under their chin for stickers. That’s the most common places I find them actually puncturing the skin. If you can’t get them out please bring your pup up to Posh Paws and I will get them out for you.
