Juvenile Jumbo Coturnix Quail sold out for the year.

I still have some ready to process grow out birds available, and also bird dog flight training prospects hanging out in the flight pen. If you have been looking to add some Bling to your covey, I have some hard to find young roosters that would love to avoid my freezer in early November!

If you are a regular egg customer, it's time to give my layers a break. Get with me fast for your final orders. I'll be dehydrating eggs this weekend to supplement my dog's food for winter. If that's something you're interested in, let me know.

Will have some additional unique color and pattern Coturnix Quail varieties for 2026. I've added Black/Black Banded, American Pansy and I should be ready to offer Jumbo Celadon (sorry I've been hoarding those).

I acquired some new roommates.

With last night's 26° temps, I was forced to bring my Delicata and Honeynut squash indoors, to help them ripen now that the vines are dead. Garden orphans.

For sure I'll be having a pop up sale at my Harvest Hut when they cure.

In the meantime, the squash and I will be having meaningless conversations around the dining room table until they grow up and move out.

I cannot express my gratitude enough for the quick response made by Bay Area Pet Hospital yesterday.

THEY SAVED MY DOG'S LIFE.

My regular vet would not answer their phone the two times I tried to call during my emergency. I've never had this happen before so I made the snap decision to call this 24/7 emergency hospital 45 minutes away.
They were ready and waiting the moment my pup and I walked through the door. Oh and the dreaded bucket of 1/4-1/2 eaten mouse poison in tow (Bromethalin-the neurotoxic kind) .

To my good friend who is a long time vet tech employed at the Pet Hospital and follows my page, THANK YOU FOR TALKING ME OFF THE CLIFF OF DISPAIR. Answering my late night phone call to discuss his progress and sending me a text of hope and his picture at 5am when your shift ended. That speaks volumes what an amazing human you truly are.

Yesterday at arrival the vet laid it out to me simply. She explained that never in her career had she seen so much volume of poison like what he threw up in front of her (see pic). A vet tech who assisted said in her 27 years, she never saw anything like this.

I fully expected this morning to accept the grave prognosis. That didn't happen.
What DID happen was a very positive conversation with this morning's vet. By some stroke of luck, divine intervention or all your thoughts and prayers-my dog warded off the toxins by vomiting the majority, taking his required treatments like a puppy champ and basically moved through any remaining toxins quickly enough that he is 100% fully recovered and to expect no future affects.

Whew.

I am beyond grateful❤️

Could I ask everyone to please send positive vibes and maybe a prayer for my newest family member?

This afternoon he discovered an old bucket of Mouse Bait Pellets tucked way back in the corner of a cupboard while I was outside sorting quail. He consumed enough that he is in critical condition and under the superior care of Bay Area Pet Hospital in Traverse City currently.

There is no cure for this type of poisoning only supportive care and monitoring for the next 24 hours.
Crossing my fingers for a postive outcome for this sweet boy.

Good morning page followers!

I'll post pics tomorrow when I'm all set up, however Friday 10/3 and Saturday 10/4 will be my last scheduled weekend for the Hut.

I have "Somewhere Exciting to Be" in 3 short weeks, and winter prep is also commencing.

I WILL have one pop up weekend around Halloween where I'll be offering my late harvested produce, however right now my winter squash vines are still chugging along nicely and not looking to ripen and cure any time soon. Keep on growing!

I still have LOTS of extras to offer this coming weekend and hoping you'll help clear out the Hut. I had NO idea my little roadside stand would be so well received, and I am truly grateful for those that have stopped by.

I will also have extra quail eggs in the fridge available this weekend, but will be turning off their supplemental lights shortly to give my hens a winter break. Regular egg customers, please still PM me for pickup.

After 7 Months of non stop heat lamps, my brooder/chick shed is finally ALL Clear.
Moved my final Cotunix Quail hatch of 2025 outdoors to get some sunshine and dust baths.

If you need to replace your roosters (as you should every 6 months), I have some VERY unique youngsters looking for full time employment. Heck, if you have to look at them every day, you might as well enjoy some bling!
