❤️ Happy Vet Tech Week ❤️

We are so thankful to have our amazing team at Our Pet’s Vet! They go above and beyond everyday to provide loving care to your pets, and no words can express how appreciative we are to have them. They do not receive enough credit for all the hats they have to wear daily, so please take time out of your day to thank the people who keep your pets healthy and happy.

Welcome to the world Aria!! 🐶🌎
Aria came in for her first wellness check up with Dr. Nguyen and weighed in at only 2.39lbs! She got her first round of shots, her first nail trim, and a dewormer all included in our Puppy Pack!! Aria is extremely sweet, snuggly and just loves her new found mama! We can’t wait to watch this baby girl grow up and see her personality flourish!

If you have a new puppy or kitty, give us a call to schedule their first appointment with Dr. Nguyen today! We would love to meet you both!

Today is Pet Obesity Awareness Day! Pet obesity is an epidemic in the US. Being overweight can cause health problems that can decrease the quality and length of your pet’s life. It can put them at great risk of conditions such as:
•Osteoarthritis
•Diabetes mellitus
•Heart Disease
•High Blood Pressure
•Urinary Bladder Stones

Weight loss can be achieved through diet and exercise. It is best to switch to a weight loss diet because reducing your pet’s normal diet can lead to deficiency in other nutrients.

Dr. Nguyen can work with you to develop a plan for healthy weight loss. So please schedule an appointment if you are concerned about your pet’s weight!

Mr. Boots here loves the taste of the Purina Pro Plan OM and has been on his own health journey to drop some pounds! 😻

08/18/2023

We’ve been seeing a higher number of coughing dogs recently. The underlying cause is not known at this time, but Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex (CIRDC) is highly suspected. CIRDC is highly contagious between dogs. Please practice caution if your dog spends time with other dogs, especially at the park, beach, groomer, or daycare. CIRDC is caused by various bacteria and viruses so full protection is not possible; however, vaccinating your dog against Bordetella and Canine Influenza can help decrease the risk.

If your dog is coughing, then please isolate your dog from other dogs and call or text us at 949-297-4070 to make an appointment. More severe cases of CIRDC can result in pneumonia, so earlier intervention is recommended.

Temperatures are rising, and we want to keep your pets safe during these hot times!

Hot weather can be dangerous to our furry friends, so please limit outdoor activities to early in the morning or late in the evening.

Heat stroke can be deadly, so take your pet to a vet right away if they’re exhibiting any of the above signs.

Stay cool and stay safe this summer! 😎

Please let us know as soon as possible if you think your pet needs some mild sedatives to make the holiday as non-stressful as possible. A current annual exam is required to prescribe medications.

May is National Microchip Your Pet Month!  When a pet is lost, the first attempt at finding their owner is scanning for a microchip.  Anesthesia is not required for microchip placement, and microchipping is for dogs and cats of any age.  We also have the HomeAgain TempScan microchip which is capable of checking a patient’s temperature with a quick scan!

If your pet is already microchipped, then please double check to ensure all of the contact information is up to date.

If your pet is not microchipped and you would like more information, then please call or text us at 949-297-4070.
