For this event we will be doing something special!! We want to bring cheer to the cancer patients of CR wood cancer center in Glens falls by making a paw card with all our furry friends!! For a small fee you can purchase a kit at the event, make a card, sign with your dogs name and we will put all together and get down to CR Wood! Come and share the LOVE!! I KNOW they would LOVE it!!

Don’t forget to sign up for our 2nd Annual Dog Days of Summer event NEXT Monday, August 19th, from 4pm-8pm at Cook Park. This is a fundraiser to benefit injured and unclaimed animals at the Boght Veterinary Clinic.

Event includes:

🐾 Dog parade at 5pm, beginning at the Cook Park Amphitheater

🐾 Dog Show to follow the parade, with prizes in categories for best costume, best buddies, and best dog trick

🐾 Vendors for your furry friends

🐾 Hotdogs and refreshments

🐾 Parking and registration table for event will be located at Cook Park Amphitheater

Yeahhhh Sergeant Stubby!!!

In 1918, "Sergeant Stubby" became a legendary figure and is considered the most decorated dog in U.S. military history. This brave canine spent over 18 months on patrol during World War One, participating in 17 battles and saving countless lives during a night-time gas attack. Stubby, a stray Boston Terrier mix, was adopted by Private J. Robert Conroy and smuggled aboard a ship bound for France. His keen sense of smell and hearing allowed him to warn his unit of incoming gas attacks and artillery shells, as well as locate wounded soldiers on the battlefield. Stubby's bravery and loyalty earned him numerous medals and commendations, including a promotion to sergeant, making him the only dog to be given a rank through combat. After the war, Stubby continued to serve as a symbol of heroism and loyalty until his passing in 1926. His legacy lives on as a testament to the incredible bond between soldiers and their canine companions.

A great event to help a great animal hospital!!

On Monday, August 19th, the Community Services Unit is hosting the 2nd Annual Dog Day's of Summer event from 4pm-8pm at Cook Park. This is a fundraiser to benefit injured and unclaimed animals at the Boght Veterinary Clinic.

We will be kicking off the event with a parade around the park at 5pm, followed by the dog show! There will be prizes and vendors for your furry friends. Hotdogs and refreshments will also be provided!

It’s TOO HOT to leave your pets in the car‼️

Pets suffer from heat stroke and die when people leave them in parked hot cars. Leaving the windows down or parking in the shade is not enough to prevent this! 🐾

PSA!!!!!!

If you absolutely MUST bring your dogs out today, do NOT , I repeat do NOT leave them in your vehicle unless it’s running with A/c on. I just had a pick up right in front of my store with 2 dogs panting heavily for over 2 hours!! Cops were called!! Thank God They were OK but drank a lot of water!!! I will take the dogs in my store if you have to run an errand or get your coffee or pizza!! My GoD people!!! If you LOVE your dog don’t make them suffer!!! We have Nice A/c and fresh cool water!! No charge!!!
