We are super low on food for our pound kitties. If you are able/ interested in picking up some food for our orphan nuggets we (& they :) ) would be SO appreciative! 🥰

AHS-Newark Branch has taken in OVER 60 DOGS SINCE JAN. 1st. 💔 Innocent dogs in shelters will continue to die if the unncessary, ignorant, selfish breeding does not stop.

Reed and Taz are DESPERATE for adoption or rescue pull. What does that mean? That means that rescues need COMMITTED FOSTERS to pull!

Reed and Taz have been waiting a combined 11 months for a home! Now we are counting on the help of our community! These dogs are seeking a soft place to land by Wednesday.
🐾 Reed (4 years old): This sweet and slightly nervous guy is wonderful with other dogs and could be a great companion for older kids or teens. He’s respectful, knows when to play, and when to relax. Reed is vaccinated and will be neutered upon adoption.
🐾 Taz (3 years old): A petite 40-pound bundle of love, Taz adores people and has potential to live with other dogs. Taz's vibrant personality truly sparkles when he plays! He’s looking for an adult-only home where he can truly shine. He is also vaccinated and neutered- ready to rock n' roll right out of the shelter.

Pelusa and Smoochie are in DESPERATE need of a foster home or adopter.

💜Cookie💜

PLEASE give this WONDERFUL little girl a share to help her find her forever H💗ME!

Cookie was trapped and brought to the Jefferson Pound on June 25th. She is a quiet, dilute calico who was completely overlooked in her lower cage in Room 1, and as an initially shy cat she spent most of her time hiding in her cubby.

When Head Counselor Susan from Panther Kitty Foster Camp said she was ready to take a new camper, it was decided that Cookie really needed the experience.

UPDATE: Her foster momma gave her the time she needed to adjust to her new surroundings and our photogenic, little girl is thriving in her foster home! BUT, Cookie can't stay there forever. A foster home is a loving, temporary home that helps set animals up for success for their forever families.

Here's what her foster mom has to say about her:

"Cookie is having a blast at camp! She is getting more comfortable every day. She is curious and loves to play. She is gentle and sweet. She is not bothered by Counselor Rudy (dog) . She enjoys chasing the magic red dot, doing yoga and taking naps in the sun. Cookie will purr until she falls asleep with her head on my hand. She’s a real treasure!"

💗A request for Lenny (and his shelter friends)...💗

PLEASE be mindful of our boy and our pound kitties this New Year's Eve. Lenny is deathly afraid of fireworks. Seriously, he was traumatized from the fireworks that were set off on the 4th of July. 💔

NO ONE should be setting off fireworks near the pound or health center. This is town property. If you see something PLEASE be their voice and DO something about it- meaning call the police versus posting on social media.

We hope you keep our pound orphans in mind and choose to celebrate with compassion tonight. What a wonderful way to show how much they are L❤️VED.

🆘COOKIE NEEDS HELP! 🆘

PLEASE keep sharing Cookie! Her temporary foster stay is up and she will be back at the pound on 12/20. 💔

She is absolutely thriving in foster with her bestie (a cat friendly, mellow pooch), she is going to be so confused and upset back at the pound. 😭💔

If you want to help Cookie and can't adopt her, PLEASE share her and ask others to do the same. 🙏💜

In four more days, Cookie (who has been in foster for the Jefferson Pound in Lake Hopatcong, NJ since October) will have to go back to her cage at the pound if she is not adopted.

Cookie has DONE HER JOB, and learned to be a perfect house cat while she was in foster! We also learned she loves (cat-friendly) dogs! And I am pretty confident she will do fine with another cat as well :)

Please do not make me do a sad post about Cookie back at the pound peering out at us in confusion, wondering what she did wrong to be back there :(

🌟Rock Stars needed 🌟

The last two slots for the year just opened up. (the volunteer who originally signed up has some family matters going on and won't be able to do it anymore.)

🎄We know this is a super busy time of year for so many, so this is probably a shot in the dark. If anyone is able/interested in signing up for a slot (calendar open with January dates also), we would be so grateful.

The impact you all have made and are making on the animals with the clean laundry is HUGE. We truly are SO appreciative for the time you you have taken to do this for the pound animals. It makes SUCH A DIFFERENCE!! Thank you from the bottom of our grateful hearts. 🙏💓

PS. Please don't feel rushed in bringing back the clean laundry, whatever works for your schedule! We just ask that you label the bag 'clean laundry' so we know. 🥰
