You better not pout & I'm telling you why! Our facility is hosting another Empty The Shelters event just in time for the holidays! 🌟

Thanks to Bissell Pet Foundation, we are going to be running this event until the 17th, which gives you the PURRFECT amount of time to come check out everyone!

Our adoption fee for adults like Maine are still waived, and kittens like Dabster & Little Foot go home for $25 each!

And as a Christmas Gift from us to you, all of our animals go home fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. 🎁

Have room at the table for one (or two 😂) more this Thanksgiving? Our felines would love to have a warm, cozy home for the holidays!

We are going to be running our adoption special until the end of the month which gives you time to come and meet all of our friends! Adult cat fees are completely waived and kittens are only $25.

What make it even better is that all of our cats, like Jedi here, go home vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered!

Check out Lynx, a 6 month old cutie who is looking for his fur-ever home! Do you like cuddles and silly kitten antics? This guy's got it all! Lynx is looking for a home where he can get a lot of exercise and playtime to wear him out. Stop by 444 Plantation Drive in Lake Jackson and be sure to ask for Lynx! Until November 30th, all of our adult cats 6 months and older have waived adoption fees, which makes it much easier for you to take love home for the holidays!

It's Wishlist Wednesday, and we are in need of shallow food bowls for our cats! How can we feed them their Thanksgiving dinners without the right dishes? Bowls and other donations can be brought to either our Cattery at 444 Plantation Drive, or the main SPCA building at 141 Canna Lane. BOTH locations are in need of shallow bowls for the cats! As always, we could also use donations of paper towels, rags, towels, and blankets.

Lookin' for a cool chick? Meet Slick! 😎

Slick is an 8 month old girl who lives up to her name, running around (and sometimes out) of her kennel! She enjoys playing with feather wands, jingle balls, and her sisters.

While she might be full of energy, Slick does take her time getting to know people, really making them earn her trusts. But you know what they say, a churu a day keeps the cat at bay! 🤣

Check out our adoptable FIV champions, Rincon and Tomeka 💪! While we're at it, here's five facts about FIV that you may not have known! 1️⃣ FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. As expected by the name, it can weaken a cat's immune system and make them more vulnerable to illness. 2️⃣ FIV can only be spread from one cat to another through deep bites and occasionally through mating. Once cats are spayed and neutered, the risk of substantial bites through fighting is reduced to nearly zero! 3️⃣ While it is a lifelong virus, FIV positive cats can live long and healthy lives. Most cats with FIV do not need any more intensive veterinarian care than their yearly exam. 🏥 4️⃣ FIV positive cats can live with FIV negative cats with very low risk of transmission, especially if everyone is spayed or neutered! 5️⃣ A cat with FIV is just a great a companion as a cat without FIV! Maybe you should come snuggle Rincon and find out for yourself 💕

The Mad Cattery

The Mad Cattery is an extension of the SPCA of Brazoria County, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to leading Brazoria County to a time when there are no more homeless pets in our community. Founded in 1974, the SPCA-BC has operated the Southern Brazoria County Animal Shelter since 2003. The shelter is an open admission facility serving the cities of Freeport, Lake Jackson, and Clute and proudly operates as a no-kill shelter.

The Mad Cattery is an adoption and event center that houses many of the shelter’s adoptable cats and kittens. Looking for your new best friend? Come spend time with some of the sweet kitties looking for loving furever homes in our new cabitat (cat habitat)! Just need a break from every day life? Stop by and say hi! The kitties would love to have someone to play with and give chin rubs. We even have goodie bags filled with treats that you can purchase to give to them! All cats and kittens have been vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped. Talk to our adoption counselors about who might be the best fit for you!

As we are no longer operating as a thrift store we have so much room to spare! We will be offering regular monthly activities to the community including cat yoga, game night, movie night, trivia night, planner brunch, paint and sip, various crafts and more! Need a space for your next meeting? The Mad Cattery is available to rent for birthday parties, showers, meetings, book clubs, bible studies and more! If you need a space, we’ve got it for you.

All proceeds go to helping the pets in our care. We also accept donations of cat litter, cat food, cleaning supplies such as soap, clorox, clorox wipes, windex, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. All donations will receive a receipt for tax purposes.
