Dog Wash: Coming up August 24!
Rosie & Simba—two of the sweetest, most fun little pups you could ever meet! We can't believe they haven't found their forever home yet. They love to walk and snuggle, Rosie loves to play fetch, and overall, they have a HUGE zest for life. Rosie is 7.5, and Simba is 14, but don't let their ages fool you—they both have a lot of life in them! They are currently being fostered at night (to help reduce kennel stress) and our foster reports that they wake up with an infectious joy that can't help but put you in a good mood for the day. Learn more about Rosie & Simba by reading their updated bio today. We will do a Facebook live meet & greet with these two later today, so plan to tune in around 6:30 to learn more about them and ask any questions you might have. We want to find a forever home that will shower them with the love and care they deserve. Is it yours? pooch.org/rosiesimba
Dr. Pepper is a smart, inquisitive, playful, and cuddly young pup. At approximately 2 years old he’s learning his basic cues while he’s with us, along with useful life skills such as how to play with other dogs, resting and relaxing around people, and how to self-entertain. He gets neutered on Friday and will be available for adoption at the end of the month!
Meet Dr. Pepper! Dr. Pepper is the third member of the first POOCH cohort of 2024! Pepper is approximately 2 years old and also joins us from Marion County Dog Services. Pepper was a stray so we don't know anything about his history. He just arrived at POOCH at 5:30 p.m. on Friday the 19th so we are just getting to know this little guy. Expect more updates to come as we learn more about his personality over the next 4–5 weeks.
Today we would like to introduce you to Fozzy! Fozzy is on Day 2 at Project POOCH. Just like Rufus, he came to us from Marion County Dog Services. Fozzy is approximately 2 years old and is quite a nervous guy. We are just starting to get to know Fozzy, but we can already see that he really comes alive outside. His highest value "treat" is comfort and affection. He's in his decompression stage so we are working to help him feel safe and secure before we pivot to the training stage. Look for more information on Fozzy over the coming weeks!
Meet Rufus! Rufus arrived at POOCH slightly less than 24 hours ago. He came to us from Marion County Dog Services. He was a stray and had been in their care since late December. We are excited to welcome this little guy to the Project POOCH family. He's on the younger side for us, at just 8 1/2 months old. As dogs arrive at POOCH, the name of the game for the first three to five days is decompression. It's all about helping them settle in and relax into their new setting before we begin any training work. We can't wait to share more about Rufus with you as we get to know him!
Klondike loves his toys and is very good at self-entertaining. Here is he in the classroom last night, happily playing with his toys as the staff worked on closing up for the evening. Learn more about Klondike at pooch.org/klondike. This silly boy is going to make someone an excellent companion!
