🌟 Welcome Dr. Tanis Whyte to the Northlake Animal Hospital Team! 🌟
We are beyond excited to introduce Dr. Tanis Whyte, our newest addition to the Northlake family! 🐾 With over 27 years of veterinary experience, Dr. Whyte brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for pet care. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University and has worked in various roles, from emergency and critical care in West Palm Beach to oncology in Los Angeles.
In addition to her expertise in general practice, Dr. Whyte has a heart for rescue work, helping pets that were too sick for adoption get healthy and find their forever homes. She even volunteered with Gumbo Limbo, caring for sick and injured sea turtles! 🌊🐢
When she’s not at the clinic, you can find her cycling, enjoying the beach, or spending time with her family of pets. We’re so lucky to have her on board and can’t wait for you to meet her!

We had a very special patient receive a dental from us at Northlake Animal Hospital. This sweet little goat was having other services performed while visiting and with the veterinarian’s recommendation he needed a dental cleaning. Pet Dental Services loves all furry creatures, we are so trilled to have been able to help this sweet guy! 🐐🦷.

This is Jolene! Jolene is a 21 week old Pembroke Welsh Corgi who was loving all the snuggles after her vaccines with her technician Sam! Jolene graduated her puppy series of vaccinations and continues to grow each day. Jolene has been seen here since her first puppy visit and we are happy to be apart of Jolene’s care. 🐶 ❤️

Everyone meet Paddy ❤️ he is a 13 year old Himalayan who came in for senior bloodwork. Why does your senior cat need lab work you ask? Cats are masters at hiding disease. By detecting disease early, not only is your cat likely to live longer but it is also less expensive to treat cats before they are obviously sick. Some “red flags’ to watch for are increased drinking and urination, changes in weight, changes in appetite. Hyperthyroid cats actually eat more and seem active so it can be difficult to tell they are sick. Doing lab work regularly also helps your veterinarian see trends or changes that need to be monitored.

Does your pet constantly lick their paws? Paw licking is usually allergies and not boredom. We have two great options at our clinic, apoquel and cytopoint. This patient came in for excessive licking and was treated with antibiotics, an e-collar and one of our allergy relief options. Call us today if you think your loved one would benefit from some allergy relief.
