Keep Your Pup Safe This Thanksgiving! 🐾🍁
Thanksgiving is a time for sharing, but not every food on your plate is a good idea for your furry friend. Here’s what you can and cannot share with your dog this holiday season! 🦃⬇️
🐶 Safe Foods:
🍎 Apples – Packed with vitamins A and C, plus lots of fiber to keep your pup happy and healthy!
🍠 Sweet Potatoes🍠 – A nutritional powerhouse with dietary fiber, vitamin B6, vitamin C, and beta-carotene.
🟢 Plain Green Beans🟢 – Low-calorie, high-fiber, and loaded with vitamins C and K.
🎃 Canned Pumpkin – Great for digestion, skin, and coat health. Make sure it’s pure pumpkin puree, not pie filling!
🦃 Unseasoned Turkey Meat – A lean source of protein that’s easy to digest.
🚫 Foods to Avoid:
🧅 Onions & Scallions – Toxic to dogs and can damage red blood cells.
🍞 Stuffing – Usually seasoned with ingredients like garlic and onion that are dangerous for dogs.
🦃 Turkey Skin – High in fat and seasoning, leading to digestive issues.
🥔 Mashed Potatoes – Butter, cream, and garlic are no-gos for your pup.
🍇 Grapes & Raisins – Highly toxic, even in small amounts.
🍖 Greasy, Fatty, and Seasoned Foods – These can cause upset stomachs or pancreatitis.
🍫 Chocolate & Sweets – Especially those with xylitol, which is extremely toxic.
🥘 Casseroles – Often filled with unsafe ingredients like butter, cream, or onions.
🍷 Alcohol – Even small sips are dangerous for dogs (bummer, we know)
🐾 Bonus Tip: Create a small plate of dog-safe foods so your pup can join in the holiday fun without the risk. 🎉
