Tryton & Spyce got to try Fast CAT for the first time today. To say it was a hit is an understatement!!

Tryon had two awesome runs both at almost 26 mph! Spyce had two great runs as well. They both improved with each run.

I am on cloud nine!

Spyce and I won Best of Breed at the AKC National Owner Handler Series Finals today!! This win means so much to me. Her mother ( Malybu) and I were the Best of Breed winner last year.

Thank you Alessandra Folz for this wonderful win.
She has also won Two Selects, Best of Opposite S*x and a OH Best of Breed in a large and wonderful groups of GWPs.

The future looks so bright for this puppy!

With just over three months of being able to be shown & limited showing, Spyce is tied for the number 12 GWP and number 3 Bitch!! She is also ranked 5th Owner Handled! She has multiple OH Group wins & Placements.

Over this short amount of time she has also earned her Championship, two 5 point Majors towards her Grand, CGC, TKN, FDC and JH title. She also has 5 field trial placements.

The bearded crew & I had a wonderful time at the walking field trial this weekend. A lot of firsts for not only the puppies but for myself & major improvements with each run.

🏴‍☠️Spyce is not only pretty but does what she is bred to do. She placed 3rd in Amateur Puppy, 2ad in Open Puppy & then 4th in Amateur Derby. She had multiple bird finds in derby. With very nice points & just looked amazing.

🔱 Tryton had major improvements with each run! He placed 4th in Amateur Puppy and 3rd in Open Puppy. I didn’t enter him in Derby. He had multiple bird finds & looked great! He is so birdy & uses his nose so well.

It is AKC official! I am proud to have my first Bred By Champion!! ✨

🏴‍☠️Spyce finished her championship, from the Bred By Puppy Class, in her typical spicy fashion. She finished with back to back 5 point majors at the National Championship week. With one win being a Best of Opposite S*x over top bitch specials. She then went on to earn a 5 point Grand Champion Major the next day as a move up. All of this at just barely 7 months old. She also has started earning her hunting titles.

The future for this girl is bright. I think this is going to be another wonderful ride!

I have been made to feel guilty for wanting the type of dog I have and spending the money to get her instead of rescuing.

My purchase of a well bred dog did not sentence another dog to death.

My purchase of a well bred dog did not cause an increase in the number of dogs in shelter.

Me wanting a dog with a predictable temperament from healthy lineage did not cause another dog to not get adopted.

My meticulous research and support of only the most responsible of breeders is not the problem. It is not what you should be mad at. It is not what you should be pushing the blame onto.

I am not the one who brought these dogs into the world irresponsibly and left them in a shelter. Responsible breeders are not the ones who put dogs into shelters either.

It is my home, my life, and my choice of what kind of dog to bring into it. Maybe I needed a working dog, a sport dog, or simply a companion puppy to raise of a breed I enjoy. No matter the reason, my choice to support a reputable breeder did not send a shelter dog to its death.

A breeder who health tests, temperament tests, studies pedigrees, proves a dog worthy of being bred, and only breeds when doing so is of benefit to the breed is not contributing to the number of homeless dogs.

The number of homeless dogs in the world is a problem, but it is not a problem exacerbated by reputable breeders and those who purchase from them.

Your neighbor down the street who refuses to contain his unaltered dogs IS contributing to the problem.

Your friend who impulse bought a dog at PetLand IS contributing to the problem.

That guy on Craigslist pumping out the trendiest designer mix as fast as he can IS contributing to the problem.

Your relative who just HAS to let their dog have one litter “so she can experience motherhood” or because “she’s just so sweet” IS contributing to the problem.

Your old high school classmate who bought a high energy working breed without taking the time to research its needs and realize it was not a good fit for their household ahead of time IS contributing to the problem.

A reputable breeder offers their lifelong support. A reputable breeder would never allow their dogs to end up in a shelter to begin with. A reputable breeder makes it a contractual obligation to return dogs they have produced back to them should you find yourself unable of keeping it.

It is understandable to be angry about the number of homeless dogs in the world, but if you take a deeper look, you will find your anger is misplaced.

If you take a deeper look, you will find reputable breeders and those of us who purchase from them are just as angry, we are just pointing fingers at the right causes.

I have a few puppies that have recently become available. They are crate trained, almost completely house broke, leash trained and have some basic puppy obedience. They are also up to date on all vaccines and microchipped.

They have already had a lot of bird and water exposure. They are very smart and willing to please.
