We no longer offering dog grooming. There are many other grooming shops in the area. We are sadden that we have decided to shut down the grooming shop lack of professional groomers and bathers are hard to come by they seemed to have disappeared into thin air.

Every long hair dog should be fully brushed at least 3 times a week. When I say fully brushed you just don't brush the top coat of the dog, you lift up the hair and brush the next layer of coat, then you lift up the next layer of hair and brush layer until you see the dog skin. that is how you brush a dog's coat.

Yesterday was a nightmare with grooming every single dog came in with mats. I know times are tough and you delay getting your dog groomed but at least brush you dogs coat.

Mats grow from skin out, so if you are not brushing your dogs coat properly those mats get tighter and tighter against the skin causing pain and discomfort to your precious dog. Mats close to the skin grow causing now air to flow around the skin which in turn causing sores to form underneath. If your dog jumps in the lake or in a pool each time it gets wet and you have not done a proper brushing on your dog and has mats to the skin those mats get tighter to skin and hurts your dog.

When the groomer shaves down a matted coat those sores are exposed from red spots to actual sores. They are not clipper burns the skin is being exposed to fresh air.
Double coated dogs and mats is great breeding ground for fleas and ticks. Not a flea collar or flea drops will work if you can't expose the skin to do the drops.

It is our policy like it or not that we will shave your dog down if we determine it is matted to the skin. Your dog doing more laying around than playing is a sign to find out what is wrong with your dog especially if it has thick, double coat or long hair.
It is my policy that I care more about your dogs health and well-being, then the human feelings on how they want their dog to look when grooming is completed. Your dog's coat will grow back, but if you don't start brushing it properly the next groomer will do the same thing if he/she loves animals as much as we do.

If you don't know how to properly brush out your dogs coat, ask any groomer at any grooming shop to show you. I am confident they will show you.
