ISO Roofing help! Looking for someone to finish the roof on our 12x24 loafing shelter. We run a horse rescue and we got this far (with tons of amazing help from our volunteer) but need help finishing the roof. We are on a tight budget and need help. Anyone interested? We need to finish before the bad weather 🙏🏼

Hero Spotlight 💡 A world away from the stage, and with the steering wheel of his old pickup truck instead of a guitar in hand, drives around his 700-acre chunk of the Texas Hill Country.

He calls his ranch “Luck” and smiles as he explains, “When you’re here, you’re in Luck, and when you’re not, you’re out of Luck.”

Over 70 horses roam Nelson’s ranch, most of which he rescued before they could be sent to slaughterhouses.
“My horses are probably the luckiest horses in the world,” Nelson said. “They get hand-fed twice a day, and they were just ready to go to slaughter is probably the last thing they remembered, so they’re happy horses.”

Thank you ._90 for sharing this 💕 good to know people use their fame and money for a great cause

Willie Nelson Rescued 70 Horses from Slaughter and Gave Them a New Home on His Ranch.
Few public figures are as beloved as country singer Willie Nelson. Known for his iconic voice and signature braids, Nelson is not just a music legend; he's also a champion for various causes. One of his notable contributions is Farm Aid, the annual benefit concert he co-founded to support struggling family farms across America.
Nelson's compassion extends beyond human causes. He is also a devoted friend to animals, particularly horses. Demonstrating his commitment, he rescued 70 horses that were destined for slaughter. These lucky animals now roam freely on his sprawling 700-acre ranch in Texas.
When not on tour, Nelson spends most of his time at Luck Ranch, which he considers his true sanctuary. The name "Luck" carries significant meaning for Nelson. In an interview with Paul Venema from KSAT 12 News, Nelson explained, "When you're here, you're in Luck, and when you're not, you're out of Luck.

Website updated with their story:

Pebbles & Bam Bam Feb 4, 2024Our rescue was tagged in a Facebook post about horses and other animals urgently needing homes due to a nearby property owner losing their farm. Pebbles and Bam Bam were free-roaming goats on a 20-acre property, but had less than 2 months to find a new home. Although we....

Such a beautiful experience ✨ the Aurora Borealis aka: Northern Lights at the ranch 💫

Auroras are caused by energized particles from the sun slamming into Earth’s upper atmosphere at speeds of up to 45 million mph. Earth’s magnetic field then redirects the particles toward the north and south poles.

Fun Facts:
The electrically charged particles then enter Earth’s atmosphere, exciting gas atoms and molecules and generating auroras. The process is similar to how neon lights work: When the molecules and atoms get “excited” by electrons, they must return to their original energy (ground state) and do so by releasing the energy as photons (light). The color of the neon light depends on the gas mixture inside the tube, just like the color of auroras depends on the gas mixture in the atmosphere.

‼️Update 2/2/24: $800 to go!

Help us save them! They are at a direct ship to slaughter facility.

Jenny and 5 month old baby Jack donkeys. They are friendly but a little shy. The mom leads ok and is pretty easy to handle. Baby is a little silly but follows mom pretty well and somewhat leads. Hes playful. Both appear to be in good health. Note said he was born in august and his teeth look right on point for that age. He is eating hay beside mom and also still nursing regularly. We DO NOT want to split them up.
