Catiators Ocicats

Catiators Ocicats Ocicats are the mild "purrsonality" with the wild spots! Regardless of their appearance, there is no Welcome to Catiators on Facebook!

We have been Ocicat breeders and exhibitors since 1998! CATIATORS OCICATS

We specialize in preserving the mild "purrsonality" with the wild spots, the Ocicat! As a purebred, pedigreed cat, the Ocicat has been bred for predictable temperament, size and beauty. The Ocicat, regardless of its name, is not bred from a wild cat but is entirely domestic, so is no risk for instinctual, wild behavior and

personality issues. OUR OCICAT WINNERS

Our Ocicats are raised from CFA and TICA registered Grand Champion, Regional and National/International winning lines, since our goal is to create show winners. But not every kitten is destined to be a show cat. Our Ocicats are playful, friendly, and affectionate, they make great pets too.

Check your pet's incision site daily after their spay/neuter surgery! To prevent your pet from further damaging the surgical site, an e-collar or a comparable alternative can be worn. It's recommended that you keep the e-collar during the entire healing process.

Prices

For the record, this is a very offensive way to make an inquiry. I have to wonder if anyone else answers them, because I generally don't. If this is your only concern, then you are not the home for any of my cats or kittens.

I realize the world has become very market-centric. We buy many things online, and price is often the only criteria. But a kitten is a 20 year purchase, and it needs to be an ideal fit into your home and lifestyle. The predictability of temperament and type is the reason for acquiring a pedigreed animal. But an Ocicat isn't a fit for every household, and my homes are carefully chosen.

The price is a very minor part of the cost of ownership of a pet. Any treatment the pet requires for accidents (i.e., broken leg), upper respiratory infection (i.e., ear infection), foreign body (swallowed a sock), or really most anything requiring blood work and treatment will be more than the purchase price of your pet. If price is a concern, then you likely can't afford veterinary care and you are not a good pet home.

Ocicats are fabulous pets. But if you want one, you might want to consider treating the person who spends all their time and money on preserving them with a little respect. "prices" is not the way.

City the Kitty is against the animal cruelty declawing. The non-profit has a lot of cool stuff, and it supports a great cause.

I still have boxes and boxes of books available and lots of t-shirts, totes, and hats! đŸ˜ș
My book is filled with funny and unique photos and is great for kids and adults!
Everything is on sale and we lowered the price of 3 books to just $15.99 which is below the cost we had to pay for them. www.citythekitty.org/shop

The proceeds from the sale of my totes, shirts, and book help keep our nonprofit going and help fund our educational declawing advertising campaigns.

This is a great idea to minimize cat allergies.

It's so sad that we have to work so hard to end this cat cruelty.
Please help us get this post out to more people and make a short comment on it.
Also, please take 60 sec. and sign our petition to National Veterinary Associates. https://www.change.org/p/nva-national-veterinary-associates-nva-please-stop-declawing-in-your-vet-practices
We reached out to National Veterinary Associates a couple weeks ago to ask them what their declawing policy is. They have 700 vet practices.
We haven't heard back from them.
So...we had to do some research on our own to see how NVA practices address declawing.
There are some NVA practices that don't declaw cats but unfortunately it appears that the majority of them perform this mutilating and inhumane amputation procedure.
Here's an example...when a cat owner calls this NVA practice, North Florida Animal Hospital in Tallahassee, to ask for the price of a declaw/spay, they say it's $1100 for a 2 paw declaw/spay and $1550 for a 4 paw/spay.
(This animal hospital has this saying on their website,"Every cat deserves tolive a long and healthy life."
When asked if they have a vet who is skilled at declaws, they said all 10 of their vet$ perform declaw$. They said that they just did one on Friday.
One of their surgery techs said that they give a nerve block so the cats don't feel it after they do the amputations. They said that most cats don't like the bandages that they put on after the declaws.
When asked if a declaw is ok for a cat long term, they said yes.
When asked if the cats have any issues from their declaws they said that the owners are happy with them.
This North Florida Animal Hospital is also an American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and American Association of Feline Practitioners GOLD Cat Friendly Practice. Both of these organizations are opposed to declawing but allow their clinics to do this mutilating procedure on cats.
Please help us end this cat cruelty by signing our petitions and supporting our nonprofit work. www.citythekitty.org
Always take the high road and educate.

Do you work at or take your pets on an NVA clinic. If so, we'd love to hear from you. We will protect your identity and keep your information anonymous. [email protected]

I'm saddened by the mammary cancer diagnosis for https://www.facebook.com/RacyMooner/, one of Facebook's notorious Abyssinians. But, her owner and breeder made a very poignant comment about the life of a cat breed preservationist. While I would modify this to say Ocicat, I thank you, Lisa-Maria Padilla, for your sentiments and wanted to share it here. "The Abyssinian breed is historic, handsome, and most importantly, loving and delightful. These cats are balm for the soul. The only way this breed will survive--like every other breed of pedigreed cat--is if there are people willing to care enough, work hard enough, and stick around long enough while surviving the challenges, tragedies, joys, and yes one's own second-guesses--to continue breeding."

Racy Mooner is an Abyssinian cat. She is not very smart, but she tries to do the right thing.

About Catiators

Welcome to Catiators on Facebook! CATIATORS OCICATS

We acquired our first Ocicats in 1998, and have been committed to protecting the breed ever since. We enjoy showing our cats, but also especially love the companionship they provide as they are fabulous pets for most households. Our cattery was named for our love of aviation, it’s a play on the word aviators. It gives us fun aviation-inspired names for our cats, including planes, airports, and even aviation “slang”.

OUR OCICATS

We specialize in preserving the mild "purrsonality" with the wild spots, the Ocicat! As a purebred, pedigreed cat, the Ocicat has been bred for predictable temperament, size and beauty. The Ocicat, regardless of its name, is not bred from a wild cat but is entirely domestic, so is no risk for instinctual, wild behavior and personality issues. In fact, the Ocicat was created from the Abyssinian and Siamese - two breeds considered to be domesticated since the time of the pyramids. Ocicats are consequently very well socialized and love their people. They often greet your guests and enjoy being the center of activity in your home. They work out well for most households. Our Ocicats are raised from CFA and TICA registered Grand Champion, Regional and National/International winning lines, since our goal is to create show winners. But not every kitten is destined to be a show cat. Our Ocicats are playful, friendly, and affectionate, they make great pets too.
