Just before the ACO in Holly Springs retired, he caught these two. The whiz bang HC government at the time had no one to feed them so we saved their lives. They ate 80 pounds of affection but very strong- not your typical little old lady dogs. Ask the little old lady that’s keeping them! One is a male and me a female. They’re very handsome as pit bulls go. We’re hoping that someone, somewhere will want them.

We were alerted to a bad situation in northern Mississippi where an all too familiar situation was developing. Some guy had a litter of puppies and he was going to dump them if someone didn’t come get them. We got there just after he turned them loose and were able to catch them all. Now, we just have to find homes for them!

These are two more puppies that had the mis fortune of being born under a trailer in northern Mississippi. This is a trailer that we’d been to before. Several years ago when rescuing was easier, we pulled 6 dogs from this place. We had the momma dogs spayed and moved on to many more next ones. Well another momma dogs spayed showed up and had puppies. These two are the survivors. Both are male and both ate about 15 weeks old and very playful and very sociable in spite of being raised outside. They’re up for adoption and we’ll hopefully be able to move them north eventually.

Mia is a very playful 18 month old Pit mix that weighs around 40 lbs. Mia is probably the brother of Rambo. She was rescued from a horrible kill shelter in rural Mississippi. Mia is a super friendly dog with low energy. Mia would be great in a home with or without other dogs. Mia loves people and children. Mia is a great dog and would make a great addition to any family. Mia is house trained and walks well on the leash. Mia is fully vetted, up to date on all her shots and spayed. Mia would love a home with a fenced in yard and a family that will spend lots of time with her.

Rambo is a year old mutt mix of some kind that is 1-2 years old and about 45 pounds. He was rescued from a rather spartan animal shelter in rural Mississippi. He's a super friendly dog, low energy dog. He'd be great in the house with or without other dogs. He needs and deserves a good home with good people.

Josie is a 40 pound, 8 month old mutt and was found along with her mom living in the grounds of a highway exit. She is apparently the sole survivor of a litter of puppies born to this dog, who has been sighted off and on at this location for several months. As a puppy, she was relatively easy to catch, but it took a while to trap the parents. Another group caught them and they are now rehomed somewhere in the area. Josie is in foster care and is still looking for a forever home. She is UTD and spayed and very playful.

Speckles is a recently acquired stray that was abandoned in front of the dog groomer/rescuer in Holly Springs. She's a year or two old and about 50 pounds. She is UTD, Spayed and HW neg. SHe gets along well with other dogs, but likes to chase horses.

Sally is a 3 year old collie mix weighing about 50 pounds. She spent all of her life in northern Mississippi being ignored by her owner. She was finally surrendered to the animal control there and shortly thereafter pulled by Mutt Menagerie. She was transferred to my house when Memphis temperatures started approaching triple digits. With her long hair, she wouldn't have lasted long in an outside kennel. She also needed socializing with people. She's coming along, bu not a proper pet. She runs from anyone approaching her. When cornered you can pet her for as long as you like, she will not bite. You can pick her up and carry her to a crate or anywhere else, she will not bite or even growl or threaten to bite. It's just something she doesn't do. She plays well with other dogs and appears normal with the exception that she's not a pet that wants to be petted. She needs someone who is attracted to her looks and is willing to be patient with her personality. Dogs like this, in my experience, will slowly become socialized to people in time, but it's a lot of time. We're hoping someone with more time and patience than I have will come along and take up her cause.
