I just read this on another page, it is pretty close to perfect...

For anyone that gets a new pet (rescued or purchased) remember the 3/3/3 rule for new pets.

3 days to decompress. Give them a quiet place not accessible to children or other animals if they need a break.

3 weeks to learn the ropes. Give them 3 weeks to learn the house rules. What's ok to play with and what's not ok. Learn how roughly or how gently we must play. Where its ok to potty, where it's not.
When it's time to play, when it's not. And to create a feeding/sleep/play/potty schedule.

3 months for them to be completely comfortable with their new family and new surroundings and solid in their new routine.

If you can't offer that, please don't take him❤️

Our Story

Our primary services are for cats and dogs and include, but are not limited to vaccinations, spays, neuters, declaws and skin conditions, We have laser surgical and cold laser therapy, both of which provide more excellent surgical procedures with less trauma and faster healing for your pet. We have digital X-ray, our own in-house Blood Analyzers an on-site pharmacy and all major brands of Heartworm & Flea prevention, shampoos, conditioners and much, much more.

We offer a Wellness Plan that is completely AFFORDABLE. I do not know of another plan anywhere that includes ALL wellness needs, INCLUDING heartworm and flea prevention, which is one of the largest problems pet owners have in Polk County. By including these products in a Wellness Plan, it is easier for the owner to stay compliant in his pet’s needs.

A large percentage of our clients who come in for appointments are dealing with “skin issues”. First of all, most of those issues are directly related to fleas. You may believe that you do not have fleas, because some animals (especially cats) groom themselves quickly and thoroughly, therefore, you may not SEE the fleas. The fleas will leave a residue under the skin which causes itching, which causes scratching, which can cause sores and hair loss. One flea can produce 50 EGGS PER DAY! You can see how quickly you can become overwhelmed by a flea problem. Secondly, we have a tremendous amount of water in our area. If you are outside long, you realize that we have many mosquitoes and they are certainly NOT limited to outside! You have been bothered at night by a pesky mosquito flying around your head! Well, so is your pet! Mosquitoes carry heartworms and we see a lot of heartworm positive patients. These are dogs who have not consistently been on prevention. Our Wellness Plan enables you to be consistent!
