After Intro, What’s Next? A Barn Hunt Workshop
at All About the RAT! Lakeland, FL

December 8, 2024

This workshop will provide you with key techniques essential for success. Dog and handler teams will work towards their ultimate goal of building team work, confidence and trust. Refine your dog's hunting skills and indication while developing handler skills. Learn the importance of knowing your criteria for the team while embracing the natural abilities and instinct of your canine partner while working the three elements of Barn Hunt ~ Tunnel, Climb and Calling the Rat. Learning to read your dog to be successful in calling a rat tube with rewarding the behavior expected and ignoring the behavior less tolerated.

A bit of exciting news!

I would like to welcome Kathy Marble-Brown of Mulberry FL to the Barn Hunt Advisory Committee.

Kathy Marble-Brown and her dogs have been competing in Barn Hunt since November of 2014. She and Rat Terrier, Streak (RATCH), Mix Breed, LoLa (RATCHX 20) and her new prospect, a Toy Fox Terrier, Paris (RATN) share an intense adoration for the sport.

Kathy became a Barn Hunt Judge in March of 2016, followed by an invite to become a Barn Hunt Mentor. In the 8 years of judging Barn Hunt, Kathy has accepted and judged 80 Barn Hunt events in different parts of the country.

She served on the judging panel for the 2019 Barn Hunt National and 2024 Barn Hunt National. Kathy enjoys sharing her passion for the sport of Barn Hunt, making it her mission to possess a positive, enthusiastic and welcoming attitude.

Trying to find the words to describe the amazing time I had at the 2024 Barn Hunt National judging amazing teams.

Team after team entering my ring made my heart warm and fuzzy.
Seeing dog and handler teams having the time of their lives is nothing short of a beautiful thing to me.

A huge thank you to Ozarks Mischief Barn Hunt and Robin for the invite to be part of the 2024 judging team. I had a fantastic time being part of this fun event.

This club has such dedicated workers, that were welcoming and kind to all.

Congratulations to every team for stepping in the ring with your dog and having a grand time.

As I make my way back to Florida, all I can think about is hugging my dogs!

176 dog and handler teams will run on Course 1 and 2. Top 50 go on to Course 3 and 4.
