Classy Canines and Middle Ground Dog Training have been ask to take on three dogs that have been at Polk County Animal Services since December 2021. We are honored to help these three receive training, learn to trust and bind with humans and hopefully find them forever homes. This video is Rex he’s been with us for one full day now and this is his second actual training session. The first session he rejected any training equipment and would not sit or place. We have been working on him finding value in humans as the staff at the shelter said he didn’t seem to care one way or another about people or dogs. Already he is looking is in the eye and learning the “look” or “focus” behavior. He’s sitting more reliably and also following the “humans” instead of being a loner. This video is to show how to positively introduce a training collar and leash. I do not correct him this time if he jumps up as I’m looking for engagement with him. The sit and place was a huge thing for him as he’s been resisting it all day lol. How to train a 4 month old puppy; Bella the 4month old Husky mix Day 2 session 6 of the day. Bella is a board and train with us for two weeks. She is learning to not jump up on people and she is starting to “self correct “ as I come around the tunnel you can see she does a half jump and corrects her behavior by offering a “sit “ instead. This is just a little bit of fun towards the end to create engagement and interaction since she’s still a puppy trying to end on a fun note. Yesterday she wouldn’t heel or walk far on leash today we’ve had LOTS of breakthroughs. Bella is learning : 1. Heel and heel with distractions. 2. Sit. 3. Sit and wait at doorways and for food and water. 4. Lay down. 5. Stay. 6. Come when called. 7. Through for the tunnel ( confidence building). 8. Focus (looking at handler for direction).
