This awesome dog dad just reminded me that they’ve been driving 120 miles every Wednesday for Molly to come and have a play day with all her friends for 7 years!!!!
It’s been very important for Joe to assure Molly makes it here for her play day. At the end of the day he routinely says, “how much is her bail today?” Lol 😂 Thank you Joe and Carla for your dedication to a weekly enrichment program for Molly. We appreciate you guys. And thank you to all the other old timers as well.♥️🐾🐾

Well, I’m a little behind, so we won’t have a Valentine party this year, but get ready for the famous annual Easter egg hunt for dogs and the Fun run for dogs fundraiser. I will keep you posted. $25 minimum donations requested.

People are coming out of the woodwork to participate, be sponsors, donate, pitch in, and share in the excitement!

What to expect….
Arrive a few minutes early at Send Rover on Over and indulge in some lake county breakfast treats and get hydrated. Meet and greet some of the organization founders and big hearted people that are advocating and dedicating their personal time for the dogs and cats and dog and cat people in this community.
We will be selling tickets for raffle prizes for wonderful items donated by local businesses.
*Winners need not be present to win.*
If you would like to donate a prize or a business service please let me know.
If you would like to be a sponsor, please let me know.
Get a new dog tag compliments of Greg Stanley with Street Dawgs.
Nannette Dutcher with State Farm will be a sponsor promoting and providing information on their Trupanion insurance product for your pet.
Where does the money go?
The funds from this event will be used for trapping loose and dumped dogs. Some spays and neuters. Feed some dogs and cats in need. Support Foster care. Provide donations to Mendocino Inland Humane society and Clearlake Animal Association and the Lake County Pet Health Network.
I love good suggestions so please do share your thoughts.
I could use some ideas for the name of the event and then I will make an event page and blast it out there. 💥

New dogs get the entire yard to sniff to their hearts delight and then we introduce them to easy gentle dogs to promote a level of comfort and add more dogs as there comfort level permits.

1 mile or 5 mile fun run or walk to raise and donate money to the local canine organizations that are working feverishly to make a change in the current animal crisis in Lake County.
I just need a head count to gather interest and get the word out and recruit some people that would enjoy coming out walking or running for fun, with or without a dog for a good cause on a nice mid morning in May. 😀🐾🐾
I’m thinking have some snacks, have a raffle, get some exercise with like minded people, for maybe $25 donation. The groups I would be focusing donations on would be Clearlake Animal Association, Lake County Pet Health and Safety Network and Mendocino Humane Society.

I have discovered a good number of people are not aware of the current animal situation that is basically worldwide and at an all time high problematically, but locally, it has increased 10 fold since I moved here in 2016.
Dumping dogs has become the way to rid of unwanted dogs due to lack of helpful resources. The shelters are full and euthanizing dogs regularly now. I think the days of no kill shelters are an illusion. People can’t afford to spay and neuter their animals. We can’t attract Veterinarians to come to Lake County for clinics, to open practices, or serve at Animal
control. We need more Vets as well as spay and neuter clinics. The SPCA is maxed out on appointments and volunteers but doing the best they can and they are still providing services here which is amazing and appreciated. Dog owners can have challenges affording or accessing vaccines imposing great health risks especially Parvo. Maybe we can have a vaccine clinic here that day as well! The people that are the helpers are working hard to keep the problems at bay and make a dent in the reduction in the big problem picture, but we need so much more. Big hearted people have taken in more dogs then they can afford or provide for just to get them off the streets and by no means am I imposing any criticism here at all, but they can benefit from a little help as well. The veterinarian societies are suggesting to wait on spay and neuter procedures for up to a year for the potential health benefits of dogs, and for some purebred dogs yes, this might be true, but this affects the safe and early spay-neuter programs and can often result in that ‘oops’ litter. So many dogs are wandering the streets of Clearlake and people can’t walk their dogs safely, they have to protect their children, and some people have resorted to shooting the dogs on the streets. True story.
Trapping organizations such as Street Dawgs, are trapping dogs almost daily. This is a lot to digest.
Did I cover everything?
Some people are very aware
of this problem, but don’t know how they can help. Here are some suggestions.
If you would like to be a part of the solution:
Become aware.
Join the pet FB pages but be aware it can be graphic.
We need to advocate for the animals.
Join or support one of the organizations for the betterment of animals in Lake County.
Reach out and educate those that can benefit from learning.
Volunteer.
Fix a gate or a fence for someone whose dog keeps escaping.
Provide and support those that are making the changes for the betterment of the animals and the animal people in Lake County.
Donate.
Foster.
Particpate in fundraisers.
Come walk or run with me for this event 😃

Good morning dog parents!
We apologize for the driveway mess, just as we were about to order gravel, we discovered an underground water pipe had ruptured. This is resulting in the mud patches in the driveway. I will get to that as soon as I can.
