Partners Therapeutic Horsemanship

Partners Therapeutic Horsemanship is a non profit organization that provides riding and equine related activities

Partners accepts a wide variety of clients with special needs and follows PATH International guidelines when determining the appropriateness of our program for each rider. Our riders come from individual families, group homes, and special education programs. We accept referrals from physicians, therapists, schools, and California Regional Centers. Partners also provides a unique, rewarding experience for those who volunteer with us.

DID YOU KNOW? After over 12 years of careful planning, TROT's dream of building a covered arena finally become a reality! Thanks to the dedication and support from our community, we successfully completed our Capital Campaign in 2021, bringing this long-awaited project to life. The covered arena, surrounded by essential structures like a bathroom, covered bleachers, and a stunning memorial garden, is a game-changer for our riders.

While summers remain hot, this new arena ensures our riders can continue their therapeutic sessions without the interruption of the extreme heat, helping to prevent regression and support the continuity of care they need. This has been a dream come true for TROT, and we couldn’t have done it without the support and hard work of everyone involved. Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us make this vision a reality!

Our Story

Our mission is to provide therapeutic horsemanship as a unique means to improve the quality of life for those with special needs, their families and the community.

Partners Therapeutic Horsemanship, founded in 2004, is set amidst the mountains of Lakeside in the El Monte Valley. Partners is a PATH Intl. (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International) Center and offers therapeutic riding lessons for people of all ages, with a variety of special needs and disabilities.

We provide riding instruction, positive physical and emotional experiences through interaction with horses. Children through adults, with various disabilities, can enjoy the immensely rewarding benefits of being outdoors by participating in therapeutic horseback riding and equine care.
