We're thrilled to introduce our new puppy patient, Henry! This adorable English Bulldog came in for his first puppy wellness exam and vaccines with Dr. Smedley and his new best friend, veterinary technician Ashley. Henry is full of the cutest wrinkles and loves to snuggle. He was so relaxed during his visit, he even started to fall asleep mid-exam! Woo, being this cute is exhausting! 🐶💤

IMPORTANT CONSTRUCTION UPDATE NOTICE

Construction to improve Dodd Blvd has created challenges getting to the clinic since it began last year. Beginning Monday, June 17th, construction will start phases 2 and 3, resulting in the closure of Dodd Blvd from Flagstaff Avenue to Cedar Avenue. This closure will greatly impact access to our clinic from Dodd Blvd. The posted detour route is to take 160th St W to Cedar to 179th St W. An alternative option (depending on where you are coming from) would be to take Pilot K**b to 179th St W to Glacier Way to Glasgow Ave. The closure to Dodd Blvd is scheduled to continue through October 15th, 2024.

🎉🐾 Happy 2nd Birthday to our friend, Prancer! 🐾🎉

Prancer stopped by our clinic recently for a little issue with swimmer's tail, but we made sure to turn his visit into a celebration! Swimmer's tail, also known as limber tail, is a condition often seen in active dogs who enjoy swimming. It can cause temporary pain and discomfort, but with rest and some TLC, they usually recover quickly! 😄❤️

To make Prancer's visit extra special, we created a birthday lick mat treat just for him, and he loved it! We hope your birthday was amazing, Prancer, and that you're feeling better soon!

Meet Tom, the most handsome Dalmatian who recently visited our clinic for his Lyme and Leptospirosis booster shots! This sweet and shy boy did an amazing job during his vaccine administration and loved all the treats he got as a reward. 🍖😁 Also, can we talk about how CUTE his heart nose is? ❤️😍

The Lyme and Leptospirosis vaccines are crucial in protecting your pets from serious illnesses. Lyme disease, transmitted by ticks, can cause severe joint pain and other health issues. Leptospirosis, spread through water and soil contaminated by infected animals, can lead to kidney damage and other complications. Keeping up with these vaccinations helps ensure your furry friend stays healthy and happy!

As the temperatures rise, so do the presence of black flies! But fret not, there's no need to panic! 🦟 While their bites may look worse than they actually are, it's essential to stay informed.

Black fly bites typically manifest as smaller red spots, often found on the abdomen or inguinal region of your pet and occur when your furry friend lays out in the grass and or spends a lot of time outside.🐾 Though these bites are very common and usually not a medical concern, they can be a tad itchy or bothersome. The good news? They typically resolve on their own within a couple of weeks without the need for medical treatment! ☺️❤️

However, during this time, it's crucial to keep your furry friend from licking or scratching at the affected area. Doing so could potentially lead to further irritation or infection. 🚫🐶 If you notice any signs of infection on your pet's skin, please don't hesitate to reach out to our clinic to schedule an appointment.

Happy Toy Tuesday from us and Firecat! Kittens love to participate too! Firecat is using a Lickimat covered in a tasty treat. Lickimats are great tools for brain enrichment activities for both dogs and cats!

Can you guess 🐾 Archer's 🐾 favorite day of the week? If you guessed TOY TUESDAY, you're right! Food is one of little Archie's favorite hobbies, and while he might outgrow dinnertime being a full body activity someday, his SloDog Slow Feeder Plate will help make sure he eats safely as he grows! We've got multiple colors in stock of this handy dish, stop in for yours today! Please make sure you supervise feeding and toy time (because who could think of anything cuter to keep an eye on, anyway?)!

Toy Tuesday is back! This week, Sadie would like to show off her LickiMat Wobble! LickiMats come in a variety of textures and shapes that you can spread soft food or treats on. The action of licking is relaxing and keeps pets entertained with tasty rewards. For an extra challenge, it's freezer friendly! It's also dishwasher and microwave safe. Make sure to supervise toy and treat time!

Happy Toy Tuesday! This week, we're excited to show you the Orbee-Tuff Mazee Interactive Puzzle. You can fill the toy with treats or kibble, and as the dog noses and bats the toy around, kibble is randomly dispensed. A great way to slow down eating and get pups up and active! They aren't kidding about the 'Tuff,' claim, either - Daisy Mae routinely throws this toy down the stairs and it's holding up great! Remember to supervise toy time and treats!

It's Toy Tuesday again! This week we would like to introduce you to the Wobble Bowl by Outward Hound. Got a fast eater? This bowl might be for you! It encourages slower, interactive feeding. The wobbling action lets kibble or small treats fall out at random, so meals are never the same twice! Please ensure toy time is always supervised for safety.
