Today Marks the official closing of our Amazing 10 Acre farm. It took 9 months of loan work and 5 years of back breaking work to make this dream a reality. I never would have guessed how hard the blows that would fight us would have been. Had I known I would have never subjected myself or my family to the risks. Yet through it all here we are. Simultaneously... we have also started our journey as landlords as well as a new job at an amazing company just 5 minutes up the road.

Anoka is... Amazing. Small town feel with tons of shops, antiques, boutiques, and new family owned restaurants. Lots of events, art fairs, with a strong vibrant community and with the conveniency of all the suburban chain stores in the city next door.

I can (and will just to say I did) kayak to work. Our farm is 20 feet from the shoreline of the rum river. A small but manageable river with a sandy bottom. It's comfortable enough to go tubing down, large enough to go fishing, and remote enough to feel you are in the middle of nowhere.

The private island is amazing. 2 acres of absolute beauty. There isn't a home in sight and is surrounded by a small private lake that is nestled between the Rum River and a 100 foot bluff. In the winter you can spot tracks from bear, coyotes, skunk, and tons of wild turkeys.

I'm happy to say that only 30 minutes from the cities I still feel close to family and friends. Most importantly, we are exactly 30 minutes from both the Minneapolis Farmers Market and the St Paul Farmers Market. We will be adding a farm stand where we will sell house plants, mushrooms, microgreens, eggs, meats, and farm crafts.

It's literally a dream come true. Thank you all for those of you who have supported and encouraged us. For all the naysayers, I know your intentions were good and I hope that our defiance serves as a beacon for those wish to do something different and follow their dreams.

for those of you who don't know. My family and I have recently moved to a beautiful 10 acre property with a private island, Private lake, and 2000 SQ FT pole barn. It's located next to the sandy bottom Rum River. We have the ability to host a lot of people and intent to have events. My birthday is also on the 10th of this month. I would love to have a combo "Farm Warming Party/ Birthday Bash" and am curious about who would be interested in coming. This would be a country style bonfire/kegger. Just 5 years ago you held your first mushroom 🍄 and we made our first social media post. It’s so amazing to see the farm grow and you along with it. Looking forward to many more years cooking and eating amazing fresh foods.

Our Take on a BLT. Instead of bacon, we used shiitake, instead of lettuce we used basil, and tomatoes we use heirloom variety vine ripened tomatoes. The result? The most amazing version of a BLT I have ever tried. If we had had pink oyster I would have used that.

Greetings we are in urban farm specializing in Gourmet Mushrooms. We are looking for people that are multi talented and able to help us with farmers markets, deliveries, mushroom production, and more. Do you want to work for an organic, no till, certified Naturally Grown farm? are purpose driven? and love to eat and talk about mushrooms? Do you enjoy being paid weekly as a W2 employee? About us
We run a market garden with 17 varieties of produce, grow 7-10 varieties of mushrooms, and Microgreens. Pay is 10-15 Depending on performance, number of seasons worked and overall experience.
