In Loving Memory of Cody James Crowley
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Cody James Crowley, who left us as the result of a tragic semi-truck accident after an unwavering 32-day battle at HCMC. Though we held onto hope for a different outcome, we acknowledge that the higher plan of the Lord called Cody to a better place.
Cody was raised in two families who loved him unconditionally, creating a unique bond that brought love, support, and cherished moments into his life. Many of these cherished moments were spent at our lake home, where unforgettable memories were created. His brother, Grant, looked up to Cody with admiration, as Cody had always been there for him. Together with his cousins, Stephanie, Scott, and Shaun, Uncle Randy and Aunt Kim, they enjoyed countless summer weekends at the lake. Cody's stepmother, Lynn, loved him like her own, and their special bond was a testament to the love that he inspired in others.
In August 2020, Cody married his soulmate, Kaycee, and their love story began in high school, where they met in gym class. Kaycee was Cody's pride and joy, and he would move heaven and earth to ensure her happiness. His eyes would light up with pride whenever they were together.
While Cody might not have been a big fan of school, his life was marked by unparalleled determination and an unmatched work ethic. These qualities shone through when he became an owner-operator, a true professional who meticulously cared for everything he owned. Cody possessed the remarkable ability to connect with people effortlessly, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met. He accomplished more in his 32 years than many achieve in a lifetime, a testament to his exceptional character. As they say, you can judge a person by how they treat their animals, and Cody's dogs will attest to his special bond with them.
Cody had a deep passion for music of all kinds. The song "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd was a fitting reflection of his spirit, and it serves as a poignant reminder of him.
In closing, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the first responders who cared for Cody, especially Danielle, the first EMT on the scene of the accident. Her comfort and care provided Cody with the initial support he needed. We extend our thanks to the dedicated nurses and doctors at HCMC who gave us an extra 32 precious days with Cody. The care and dedication you showed were truly beyond words.
For those who wish to make a donation in Cody's memory, we recommend supporting Firefightersforhealing.org (https://firefightersforhealing.org/) a remarkable organization that assists the families of burn victims.
As we say goodbye to Cody, let us be reminded not to wait until tomorrow to tell our loved ones how much they mean to us. Cherish every moment and express your love today. Rest in peace, dear Cody. You will forever be in our hearts.
