Happy Wednesday! Today Ghost went in for his first of 3 heartworm shots. While at the vet, Dr. Larry noticed Ghost’s sc***um is just not healing the way it should from his neuter. He thinks the best thing to do is to remove it. So. Here we are. Asking for help. Again. We had the tattoo event on Saturday and raised $400.. which is enough for about 1.5 of his heartworm shots. So, we need your help with ideas on how to raise more and if you’re able, with donations for our sweet boy. If you have any ideas please let us know! If you can donate (we know the holidays are here and money is tight 🥺), we’ll post the link below. Thank you all for your continued support! Stay warm! We’ve got a beautiful weekend to look forward to!

Happy Sunday! Couple things! We are wrapping up the last of the prep for the tattoo event on Saturday! We are SO excited!!!! Please remember that the event is first come first serve from 12-8. Each tattoo is $100 CASH ONLY and PLEASE tip your artist as they are volunteering their time and talent to help us raise money for Ghost! We’ll have swag bags for each person who gets a tattoo! And if you get a tattoo AND/OR a caricature at the event, you’ll get a raffle ticket (for each service you purchase) to be entered to win a smart watch (Apple or Android compatible). We’ll also be selling lunch (hotdog/chips/beverage). If you are interested in a caricature (they are AMAZING), just bring a pic of your pet to the event and you’ll go home with some
Custom artwork!! $30/Face!

Also, typically I adopt a few families for Christmas. This year we decided to make it a group effort and we are going to “Adopt A Cop”! We’ll be adopting 3 police stations: Jordan, Bloomington, and Burnsville! Between the 3, there are approximately 115 officers! We’ll be filling stockings with little goodies for each officer. The list of items we are looking for are:
Hand warmers
Individually wrapped Beef Jerky
Individual snack sized bags of nuts
Starbucks/Caribou GC ($10 max per officer)
Energy Drinks
Grandmas Cookies
Energy Bars
Gatorade
Chapstick
Packs of gum
Candy

We also would like to put thank you’s with each stocking. If you have children or teach students and would like to help us with these, we would appreciate some hand made cards for each officer!!
We’ll be giving each department pies to enjoy as well!

If you would like to help, but don’t want to shop, you also could PayPal (please make a note that it’s for this: [email protected]

Please let us know if you would like to donate items or cards asap so we can get these taken care of by Dec 15! Thank you!!

Fosters needed ASAP for doodles! These are breeder release dogs and may be skiddish, but never mean.
All dogs are good with other dogs. No cat exposure. Very limited kid exposure. Not house trained. No vet documents come with the dogs. Dogs will be dirty, matted, and likely have fleas.
No pics.
All food, vetting, and food are taken care of by us. Please email [email protected] if you are able to help.

As some of you are aware, there was a huge barn/house fire today in Winona, MN. A family lost everything and they are asking for donations of these items for the children. Items can be dropped off at Leo’s South In Lakeville at the front desk through Saturday, November 23rd or if you know me (Keri), I can meet up this weekend. We’ll be bringing the supplies Sunday afternoon.

Max: 3T pants, 4T shirts, 4-5T boxers, 3-5 year socks, size 9 shoes.

Marcela: 18 Month-2T everything, size 5 shoes
Size 4 diapers
No fragrance wipes
2-6 year toothbrush
Tom’s toothbrush toothpaste
Honest company shampoo

This is devastating and we need to rally our troops to help these families out.

Eventually we will post what is needed for the animals/barn, but this is an emergency. The kids have nothing.

These are the fundraisers as well: https://www.givesendgo.com/MarkandMelissaBaus

We were going to wait to post some good/funny updates, but quite honestly, I’m feeling really sad about Betty (as you all are), and I feel like we need a “pick me up”. So, yesterday, we started our “Hero” calendar shoots (finishing tomorrow). We brought Scout and Lucy. So, here’s some bloopers from Scout not cooperating. And our Zara girl found her perfect forever home last night as well. ❤️
Thank you to the men and women in Blue 🩵

Update on “Betty”… This morning we received a call from Allied Vet and were told when they were placing her under anesthesia to place the esophageal feeding tube, she went into cardio pulmonary arrest. She fought so hard, and we were willing to go the distance for her. We had already sent the X-rays and diagnostics over to our vets to prepare for surgery. Unfortunately, her little body had acquired so much trauma from whoever did this to her and she passed away. To say we are heartbroken is an understatement. This world can be so cruel. We want to thank you all for your support, donations, and prayers. We were reminded that sometimes no matter how much you do, sometimes it just isn’t enough and it’s a very hard pill to swallow.
Run free, sweet girl. You were loved more than you know and you didn’t deserve anything that you endured on your short time on this earth. We didn’t deserve your love, but you gave it so willingly. 💔
While we raised about 1/2 of her bill, we still could use any help you are willing to donate.

One more post for the night and then I’m off to bed as I’m emotionally and physically drained. We have given the go ahead to insert “Betty’s” feeding tube. Our bill has now jumped to $3400 and that’s before she has any kind of surgery, which will be needed. We have sent the X-rays over to our normal vets for a quote. If you are able to help at all, we really could use some donations! We just received a $250 match! That means for the next $250 donated, your donation is doubled!
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated and shared!

Alright, I know you all are probably sick of us begging. But, we just stopped to drop off formula, bottles, wet food, a collar, and other supplies to the kitty at the vet. Last night when I was watching the Tyson fight, I was scrolling through Facebook (I really have got to stop doing that!). I saw this kitty and didn’t know anything other than it looked to have a broken jaw and a Good Samaritan found it and brought it to the vet. I assumed it had been hit by a car. Here’s the kicker. The vet doesn’t think it was hit. They believe it was hit repeatedly with a hammer because of the locations of the trauma. A hammer!!!! This poor kitty is probably only 2-3 months old and is the sweetest kitty we have ever met. She has yet to eat. So, we told them to put a feeding tube in. When you commit to an animal, you have got to give it all you’ve got, and we’re doing just that. As of right now, we are $2700 in. So, here we are again. Begging. The tech at Allied has named the kitty “Betty” as in Betty Crocker because she is still making biscuits through all of the pain. If you can help at all with her care, we all would appreciate it so so much! https://www.paypal.me/protectingpawsrescue?fbclid=IwAR0-zvXeHHTx1GjmQLjrjA4Hy6KbNQIKyVihm9mvznbfH1XWvWa2daEP-w0

Alright, here’s an update on “Kiah”, our kitty we have taken over care on….. She will be staying at Allied Vet to get fluids and her pain under control. Right now, our bill is just shy of $2000. We will be dropping off a bottle and formula and pray she will eat something tonight. If you are able to donate to her care; this is only the beginning and we could really use your help. Thank you to all who have donated and shared ❤️

Alright “Kitty” needs a name and we need your help! We have started her care at Allied Vet (will be transferring her to one of our vets for further care). As of right now, we are getting her X-rays, a CBC, and an eye stain. From there, we will determine the next steps. We really need your help. We weren’t expecting to take on another medical case, when we are already dealing with Ghost and his treatment. Please help if you are able!!
