Non profit, 501c3 public charity animal rescue & adoption center operating a mostly cage free shelter in Lakewood, CO. Since 2003, we've saved the lives of and found safe, caring homes for over 11,000 animals (mostly cats & kittens at the shelter, but many dogs through fosters). Amazing fact due to our very limited resources, our small building (converted fast food restaurant), no government, corporate, or other group funding, and only a few committed volunteers.

Huckleberry came to Angels With Paws a very scared 6 month old kitten, she's been with us over a year. Sofia our wonderful Animal Care Technician has built trust with Huckleberry and she has really bloomed. Sofia noted she never climbed high, possibly because she always hid under things?
We just didn't know why exactly she never climbed up high to observe the world. However, Sofia is teaching Huckleberry how to soar to new heights, one paw at a time!

✨ A Truly Special Adoption Story! ✨

This weekend, something amazing happened... three of our FeLV+ cats were adopted together! ❤️

Poirot, who bravely battled and beat FIP…
Roll, who traveled from another shelter out of state for a second chance…
And little Susie, who came to us as a very sick kitten but never stopped making biscuits for everyone she met.

Now, these three friends get to continue their journey side by side in a loving home with an incredible couple who didn’t shy away from their FeLV status. 💕

Each one will bring their own unique personality and story to their new family, and we couldn’t be happier for them.

Here’s to Poirot, Roll, and Susie!! May your days be full of love, cuddles, and endless purrs. 🐾🏡

Eloise isn’t your typical cat, she’s more of a dignified lady who prefers to set the terms of affection. At 13 years old, she’s fully in her “retired diva” era and would love to find a calm place to live out her golden years. This pretty gal would prefer to be the only animal and in a home without small children. Eloise is hyperthyroid and requires a special diet. She also may benefit from anxiety meds.
