At Hestia Field Farm, there’s community, there’s magic, and there are beautiful animal energies. We’re so excited to host an Intro to Tarot class surrounded by all of this, and hope that you’ll come join us!

On Saturday, November 23rd, we’ll gather around our table from 10:00 am - 12:30 pm with the wonderful Kathryn MacQueen. Kat will walk us all through the basics of tarot so that you leave with a better understanding of the cards and their guidance. Attendees will also leave with a small gift bundle and are welcome to say hello to the animals at the farm.

Will we see you there? You can register at www.hestiafieldfarm.com/shop

We’ll have some yummy fiber goodness at this Saturday’s Farm-to-Fashion fair from our (very) locally grown Lakewood sheep! While we sadly can’t bring the flock with us (along with the two sweetie burros), you can see some of our loves in the next picture. They’re so much of what makes us Hestia Field Farm. 🖤🐑🌀

The event is this Saturday, October 26th, from 10 - 5 at the fairgrounds in Golden (Exhibit Hall 3). The fair is free and open to all — come meet some farmers and squish some delicious wool!

Oh, Merlin — the miracle lamb. ♥️

This sweet babe was born to our babydoll sheep, Lily, in the spring of 2023. While Lily had been pregnant before, she had never been able to deliver a living lamb. Merlin planned on doing things differently, and stuck around to see what this world had to offer.

She quickly made herself comfortable, nestling into (on to?) Lily’s back and in the arms of folks ready to cuddle her. She was an undisputed fan of the neck scratch and couldn’t get enough of chewing her cud while stretching her head to the sky. A friend also pointed out that she has a little pink heart on her nose…so, needless to say, she’s stolen ours.

Now, she’s much bigger, fluffier, and louder than her early days. She loves a good snack and — though rarer than it used to be — may still take you up on a chin scratch. 🖤🐑🌀

One of the best parts of being at Hestia Field Farm is the community that continues to grow alongside us. This week, we held an open house for ’s CSA members where they met the animals, learned more about what we’re doing here, and squished some delicious yarn. ☺️

We were also gifted this heart-filling picture of Watch, painted by a CSA member. To know that the farm moves beyond its bounds and reaches people who interpret it through their own lenses is pretty meaningful to us. Thank you, Kathy, for the art and the joy that you brought to Hestia Field this week. 🎨🫏🌀

Today, we’re introducing the Marie yarn! This soft, light brown yarn that comes from our CVM ram, Edison, is now available on our website! 🐑

This yarn is named after Claire’s grandmother, Marie. Marie spent much of her younger life on a family farm in Nebraska, raising cows, sheep, pigs, and chickens. As she got older, she explored a few cities further east and met her future husband at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. Not long after, they started traveling to a suburb of the city every weekend to build their new home by hand.

Marie would’ve been 101 this month if she was still with us, and I can’t imagine what it would be like to walk Hestia Field with her and to hear her stories. She would have fit right in at our home, a place built by and for strong women. 🖤🌀🖤

When Aunt Jane came to Hestia Field, she had spent almost 10 years in the wild. It’s been a slow and steady process — to say the least — to gain her trust, but yesterday we hit a huge milestone.

The first time Aunt Jane had her hooves trimmed at the farm, it took one veterinarian, two farriers, medication for sedating, multiple support people, and approximately three hours. Since then, it’s been a journey of still some medication to no medication to just a lead and halter while the farrier has worked on her hooves.

Yesterday, our amazing farrier Makendra at was able to give Aunt Jane some love, scratches, and snacks while she trimmed her hooves in about 20 minutes — no lead or halter needed. To watch Janie standing comfortably and safely on her own was the biggest gift and reminder of how much she’s grown. We love these moments. ♥️🫏🌀

Y’all — we have chickens now…which means we also have farm fresh eggs for sale! ☺️

We love having these six new ladies on the farm, clucking and meandering about. They’re feathery and fluffy joy bringers of the goofiest kind who also enjoy the bountiful grasshopper population in our front yard…

A dozen eggs for $10 — available on the website and for farm pick up only. 🥚🌾🌀

This week, we were able to share some new skeins of yarn with our yarn CSA members. The orange yarn is Torbin’s, a naturally dyed fi*****ng weight yarn, and the gray is a worsted weight yarn from our sweet Arthur. We’ll be posting new yarn on the website soon…keep your eyes peeled! Thank you, Torbin and Arthur! 🐑🧡🌀

Farmers helping farmers…none of us can do this alone! We were so thankful to Anica and Ivan from SoCliff Farm when they came by last night with a massive gift of greens for the flock after having cleared one of their garden beds. The flock was *not* disappointed, and you can see the full gift drop in the comments! ☺️🌱🌀

The thistles at Hestia Field are home to many ladybugs, who snack on any aphids that arrive. While the thistles can be frustrating with their abundance of spiky leaves, their deep roots pull nutrients from the soil up to the surface, making it easier for other plants and animals to have access to them. It’s all part of the circle. 🌈🐞🌀

Leigh will be leading our medicinal plant walk next Saturday, June 15th!

Leigh is the co-owner of in Denver, CO. When she isn’t treating her clients to deeply relaxing, restoring and rejuvenating facial experiences, she’s busy playing in her garden, glamping, hiking, cooking and studying all things related to medicinal plants. She and her wife, Barb, love to travel and you can find them listening to live music all around Colorado and the country. Her daily doses of Earl Grey tea and organic dark chocolate keep her pleasantly nourished and satisfied.

A Colorado native, Leigh is a licensed holistic esthetician, certified herbalist, and trained Restorative Practices facilitator. Her skincare practice is inclusive and welcoming of all folks - the LGBTQ+ community, all skin colors and types, all ages, all abilities, all beliefs - truly anyone seeking exceptional quality skin care and deep human connection.

Leigh has always had a deep love of nature and growing things, starting when she was a little girl following her grandfather (a botanist and conservationist with the U.S. Forest Service) around his garden helping him plant sweet peas and spring greens. Growing up on a farm, Leigh learned the value of working with horses, sheep, herding dogs, and a wide variety of poultry. She gets downright giddy every time she helps out at Hestia Field, loving the opportunity to reconnect to her farmgirl roots.
