Monday's MLK Holiday Hunt is being cancelled, the frozen ground has made it unsafe for hunting! TA 7N is open today and tomorrow for recreational riding, so enjoy the sunshine and be careful!

Saturday's Hunt fixture is Hillhurst on TA 8. Flights will hack from the clubhouse at 10:30 am for an 11 am start. You can also trailer to Hillhurst, this hunt is informal and bring a brown bag breakfast! For those working on colors, TA 8 has the Kellogg, Sferra, Gilpin and Ditch courses as well as the Selden prairie! Tally Ho!

The Tuesday training hunt has been cancelled as TA 7N is closed for military training. Please note that 7N will be open on Thursday, so we will have a Thursday training hunt at 10 am from the kennels on TA 7N and possibly TA 7S! Tally Ho!

Tomorrow's hunt is at the Johnson Marsh fixture! Trailers will leave the kennels at 10 am for an 11 am hunt. The hunt is informal (dress for the weather) and bring a brown bag lunch. Please sign-into iSportsman for all open JBLM TA's on 8, 9 and 10 before you leave while you still have reception! Tally Ho!

We're hunting on New Year's Day, this formal hunt will leave from the clubhouse at 11 am and we will be hunting TA's 7 and 8! Breakfast will be a New Year's Day potluck, bring you favorite "Good Luck" traditional New Year's dish, we have fresh oysters coming and a "Hoppin John" black-eyed pea dish! And we're looking for a member to get breakfast credit for doing clean-up! Comment back with what you're bringing!

A 72-Year-Old Man Triumphs in the World's Toughest Horse Race – 100 Miles in a Single Day!

This achievement is truly remarkable. The Tevis Cup stands as the most challenging 100-mile endurance event globally, where many participants struggle to complete the course in a single day. At the age of 72, Potato Richardson, alongside his 14-year-old Arabian mare, SMR Filouette (Gandhy Dancer x Fille de Cailana), emerged victorious, surpassing five previous champions and two former winning horses.

Many might have assumed that this individual had already experienced the peak of his equestrian pursuits; however, he has demonstrated that age is no barrier to exceptional horsemanship. He has a deep connection to his mare, having owned both her mother and grandmother. His meticulous planning over several years culminated in this momentous competition. When the day arrived, he approached it with a vigor and determination that seemed innate. His extensive experience and insight should not be overlooked.

"I simply rode with greater intelligence," remarked Potato Richardson at the age of 72.

In many sports, aging often leads to a decline in performance. However, in the realm of equestrianism, experience tends to enhance our abilities as we grow older. My utmost respect goes to him.

A 19 year old wins the London International Horse Show's LeMieus Puissance Class on her father's field hunter!

Congratulations to 19-year-old Rachel Proudley! Rachel, who is based at HK Horses, thrilled fans at The London International Horse Show when she won the LeMieux Puissance with Easy Boy de Laubry Z, in only their second puissance together.

Hello Woodbrookers,
We have lots of fun and festivities planned for the last weeks of 2024!
Thursday 12/19 - 10am Training Hunt on TA 10A and TA 10B. We’ll park at the intersection of Johnson Marsh Rd and 15th Infantry. Trailers will leave at 9:15am if you want to follow from the club.

Saturday 12/21 will be our Solstice Hunt, at 11am from the Gilpin fixture. I can’t wait to see the Seldon Prairie for the first time this season!

Tuesday 12/24 we’ll ride from the clubhouse on TA 7N and 7S. This will be more of a Christmas Eve trail ride with a handful of hounds. We’ll leave at 10am and return by noon.

iSportsman permit required for all events. ‼️ We have lots of fun planned, including holiday hunts on MLKJ Day and Presidents Day.
