Newbee Tuesday: when the weather outside is frightful 🥶❄️, building beekeeping equipment is so delightful!
This week I finished building three complete hives consisting of six boxes, three telescoping tops, three inner covers, three bottoms, and 60 wired frames (10 per box).
I also enrolled in the University of Florida's Master Beekeeper Apprentice-Level course. https://entnemdept.ufl.edu/honey-bee/extension/events-and-activities/master-beekeeper-program/
What's next: paint boxes, tops and bottoms with exterior paint (three coats), apply beeswax foundation to wired frames, design/build stand for hives to sit on.
