🍂🦃 Keep Your Fur Babies Safe This Holiday Season and always! 🦃🍂
As we gather to enjoy festive feasts, remember that some of our favorite holiday foods can be dangerous for pets! Here are some common ingredients that should stay out of paw’s reach 🐾⬇️:
1️⃣ Cinnamon – A little may smell nice, but too much (especially essential oils) can lead to vomiting, low blood sugar, and even heart issues.
2️⃣ Chocolate – It may be a holiday must-have, but chocolate is a BIG no-no for pets! The darker it is, the more toxic. Even a small bite can be dangerous.
3️⃣ Nutmeg – Found in seasonal favorites like pumpkin pie, nutmeg can cause disorientation and seizures in large amounts.
4️⃣ Fatty Turkey & Bones – Stick to white meat without skin! Dark meat and bones can cause pancreatitis or serious injuries if ingested.
5️⃣ Onions – Raw, cooked, or powdered—onions are toxic to pets and can cause a type of anemia due to red blood cell damage.
6️⃣ Xylitol – This artificial sweetener is often in sugar-free candies and baked goods. It can cause severe low blood sugar and even liver failure, especially in dogs.
7️⃣ Garlic – Like onions, garlic is toxic to pets, damaging red blood cells and potentially causing life-threatening symptoms.
❗️If your pet gets into any of these foods or shows unusual symptoms, contact us or the Pet Poison Helpline at (844) 492-9842 ASAP.
Wishing you and your furry friends a happy and safe holiday season! 🎉🐶🐱 #PetSafety #HolidayFoods #ThanksgivingSafety
