Meet Addy, a brave 10-year-old Pittbull mix who has shown incredible strength through her journey at Evolution Veterinary Specialists. 🐾

Addy came to us after her primary vet discovered concerning x-ray results, suspecting bone cancer in her right front leg. With the guidance of our skilled Oncology team, we confirmed the diagnosis of osteosarcoma. 💔

But Addy wasn’t giving up. 💪 After undergoing a successful front limb amputation with our Surgery team, she’s back at home with her family and ready to take on the next step in her journey—chemotherapy, to stop the cancer from spreading.

Addy’s strength, resilience, and the support of her family are an inspiration to us all. We’re here every step of the way to help her feel better again. 💙

Tip Tuesday from our Exotics team 🦔🦷
Hedgehogs are prone to developing oral tumors, so it's recommended to bring them in for a sedated exam at least once a year, or every 6 months depending on their age and health status.

Oral tumors in hedgehogs can be quite serious. They can lead to difficulty eating, weight loss, pain, and infections. If left untreated, they can grow and potentially spread to other parts of the body. Early detection through regular exams is crucial for better treatment options and improving the chances of a positive outcome. That's why routine check-ups are so important, especially as hedgehogs age. If you notice any signs like drooling, difficulty eating, or swelling around the mouth, it's best to get them checked as soon as possible.

✨ Tip for Dogs: Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and pet-friendly toothpaste—never human toothpaste! Aim to brush your dog’s teeth a few times a week.
✨ Tip for Cats: Start slow with a finger brush or gauze, and focus on the outer surfaces of their teeth. It’ll help keep tartar in check!
