Hi, my name is Melissa. I have been a dog trainer for over 10 years now and hold a BA in Psychology. I specialize in positive reinforcement and balanced, correction based training (for those extra stubborn and/or aggressive cases) that helps build a strong bond between owner and dog. My objective is to help all of my clients achieve their training goals by using my methods alongside with a clear s
et of rules for the dog to follow in order to create a healthy hierarchy between pet and owner. I've worked with breeds of all shapes, sizes, and ages, and I teach many different types of training levels including the following:
* Basic obedience training for puppies and adults -- sit, down, stay, leave it, loose leash walking, barking and jumping issues, and fun tricks, and more (shake, roll over)
* Advanced obedience training for puppies and adults -- the above behaviors in higher distraction areas (such as the park, pet store, etc.), off leash training, prep for Canine Good Citizen test/ Therapy certification, and advanced tricks (pray, play dead, beg, etc.)
* I also work with those who have issues with separation anxiety and aggression. I believe that with dedication and consistency, we can take a stubborn, unruly, or just untrained dog, and make them the perfect companion that any dog owner would be proud to have in their family. The only thing I ask of my clients is for commitment to the process of dog training. I am not going to train your dog for you, but I will help teach you how to train your dog for long lasting effects. It does not happen overnight, but it is well worth the effort.
