Barb will be 10 weeks old tomorrow! She has got her button down!!! This is her cue that she needs to go potty.. right now we are at the early stages. She needs to be reminded.. but she has put the concepts together! She will soon begin telling ME she needs to go.
So proud of these babies!! This pairing is 10/10 on sweet, confident, gorgeous, smarty pants babies again!!! This happens from very intentional breeding!! Genetics andddd environment are equally important 🥰
I work really hard on “here” and “sit” skills so that puppies go home knowing this is how they are to approach their humans! No jumping. Confident with all four paws on the ground!!! Miss donut is 6 weeks. All ten puppies have mastered these skills already. She is one of the first to have them off leash!
Donut showing off her “here” and “sit” at 5 weeks + 3 days old. Week 5 I teach “here.” But a few have already moved on to “sit.” I love teaching this very early so the puppies learn to sit when they approach you. When this habit is in place it helps jumping to not be a big issue.
Crate Training! Why? 1. Bladder control. Confining puppies to a very small space very quickly helps them to learn I don’t want to lay in my mess. 2. House breaking! If you are not supervising your puppy, keep them confined to an area where they canthurt themselves, chew things or potty! We want to set up these puppies for success and create good habits. So it is unwise to just let them roam free unsupervised in the house before they’re house broken. What if they start to mess on your rug and you’re not there to say “No!” And take them outside to go potty on the grass. Or what if they start to chew on a shoe and you’re not there to say “no!” and give them their toy to chew on instead? Then you’re condoning these bad behaviors and they’ll continue! If you’re just gone for short periods during the day you can crate your puppy. But if you’re gone all day, you’re not going to want to crate your puppy all day and all night! That’s not fair! If you’re gone for several hours during the day I can help y’all make a set up like mine with a place that is allowed to potty maybe in a laundry room or bathroom until you’re able to trust them. Problem solving!Keep their space small! Once their skills are solid in their crate, their trusted space can be bigger, but to start, you want your puppy to feel like they have to lay in a mess if they go. If your puppy is waking early at like 3-5am and not wanting to go back to sleep… are you letting it nap several hours before bed? That’s easy to do because for us, wind down times are the evening. But if your puppy has been asleep in your lap during 3 hours of the bachelor finale they may not be able to sleep 8 more hours for you ;)Puppies from Texas O Dood Ranch should not whine much. They may just a little because they’re being separated from littermates the first night. But because I have exposed them to the crate from day one,
NEW & IMPROVED WAITLIST PROCESSFrom this moment forward I will have ONE waitlist. No longer will I have different Reserve Lists going for anticipated litters. For those already on future Reserved Lists, you will stay put, but I will fill from my one Master Waitlist when puppies are born! Here is how the process will go.. STEP 1. Let me know you’re interested and I’ll email you details & pricing. Then, we will schedule a phone call so that I can answer questions and we will make sure we are a good fit! If the feeling is mutual.. STEP 2! Join the WaitlistSubmitting a Deposit secures your position. (All deposits are small amounts that are later applied to purchase price. Amounts are disclosed in email). STEP 3 [Choice A]When I have a litter of puppies born, I’ll reach out to the Wait List in order, to fill positions on the upcoming litter. I’ll let you know how many males and females have been born, and at that time if you’d like to move forward, you’ll designate if you would like to be on the male or female Reserve List for that litter. Then you will submit an additional small deposit to hold your place on the specific born litter’s Reserve List. Puppy picks will done around 7 weeks old in order of your position on the litter’s Reserve List. For future litter, there will no longer be a “pass” option after puppies are born. STEP 3 [Choice B] the SKIP optionWhen puppies arrive, if you are contacted off of the Wait List and do not wish to move forward with the available litter.. at that time you can let me know to SKIP you. Your position on the wait list will stay in place for the next available litter! However, if you use the skip option a second time, you will lose your position and be bumped to the bottom of the wait list. I have exciting future litters planned and am always happy to share with you what upcoming litters I am anticipating😊 I hope this ne
THIS is what it’s all about. I breed to produce a ton of intentional qualities. But producing the ultimate family dog— a tolerable and kid loving temperament is my number one goal!!!! Holly (we have two Hollys and two pennys in this litter), formerly ”Purple Collar,” is living out her purpose with a beyond precious family that happens to be very dear to me. This absolutely made my day!!! Then and now pic in the comments!!
🤎
I am anticipating two summer litters and have open Reserve Lists filling up as we speak 🥰
Huck you’re so smart!!! Check out Black Collar boy’s tricks!! Him and his mama have been working hard. He is 3.5 months old and is as handsome and smart as ever!!!! I’m just so proud. Future reserve lists are open!
Y’all’s groomers are gonna thank me haha. These guys love to be groomed! But grooming early on does more than just prepare them for easy groomings! It helps yield confidence and helps pups be uneasily started by loud sounds & textures! Blue collar boy about fell asleep!
