One of my great passions in grooming is dealing with the spicy dogs. They're usually anxious and used to pushing people away. They learn what makes people stop— and they use that. The more they do this the more it affirms to them that the person handling them isnt in control. And honestly— they want anyone but themselves to take control, but they don't trust just anyone. I believe with dogs like this it's important to 1) not take things personally 2) stay confident in your abilities (or know your limits and refer out— this is definitely not for everyone) 3) keep your emotions and energy in check because they will feed off of that and most of all 4) be respectful. Give them a moment to check something out, to switch weight distribution, to know what's coming next. ✨ The Magic behind the groom ✨ Waylon! This MCC was a beast for me to tackle (hence the stressed expressions 😅). I know clients probably think us groomers just know how to do all the haircuts out there, but the reality is that most of the time it takes a willingness and dedication on our own time to learn these things. I’m a huge believer in continuing education and am always pushing myself to be better. This haircut is very flawed, but being that it’s my first continental clip and that I’ve only been grooming a whole 2 years, I’m not too upset with it.
