The way your pets are handled, especially as puppies and kittens is extremely important.

Dogs and cats grow into instincts to protect their face, feet, ears, belly, and behind being touched.
If you don't actively work to give them good experiences with these things, the instincts get stronger and stronger and you may end up with a pet that will not allow touch in those areas. 😔

Making sure your pet has good experiences at home with your family working on getting them comfortable and having those areas touched is extremely important. That way their vet visit will not be so stressful and scary. 👨🏼‍⚕️

September is Leukemia & Lymphoma Awareness Month and we want to remind our pet parents of the importance of wellness visits regardless of pet's age.

The most common initial symptom of multicentric lymphoma in dogs is firm, enlarged, non-painful lymph nodes. A lymph node affected by lymphoma will feel like a hard, rubbery lump under your dog's skin.
Some other symptoms include anorexia, lethargy, weight loss, increased urination, increased water consumption, and anemia.

Bringing your pet in for a wellness exam 1-2 times a year, along with routine bloodwork, helps our team identify potential problems early and provide timely intervention.

Is it possible for dogs to have obstructive sleep apnea?
Unlike humans, CPAP machines are not yet available for dogs.
If you have an obese dog it's recommended to change their diet to lose excess weight.
If you notice your dog excessively snoring or gasping for air when they sleep, contact our office right away!
