It’s been a minute since I posted. Not because I wasn’t busy, but because life likes to throw curve balls at odd times. All the same, here I am to infest your feed with more clipped horses! Three of these were done a few weeks ago and the last two with super similar clips are my own two who finally got the attention that they needed. I know we’re getting closer to the chilly season so if you’re looking to shave your horses, right now is the time since soon giving baths will be tougher to do. If you’re interested and have any questions please let me know. I’m still running pretty good discounts right now through the end of the year and would love to get a few more horses done before the cold really sets in. Let me know!

Good evening, everyone! I hope you’re enjoying these cool days as much as I do. Sun’s starting to rise later and set earlier and you might be noticing your horse is already bracing themselves for the cold that’s nipping at our heels. While we’re still in the warmer days having that excess hair on our performance horses isn’t fun. I got to do two awesome horses, the paint is named Scooter and the halflinger is Buffy. Both owned by lovely ladies who just don’t want their horses to get hot with the days still spiking up and the most optimal riding times coming up. Both these horses got everything clipped off from hoof to head and they definitely appreciate the relief. I am beyond excited that I’m getting to meet so many new people and am ready to get to meet more. If your horse is growing a coat already and you’re worried about their comfort let me know and I’d be happy to talk to your situation and find a clip that can work for you. Have a good Sunday, everyone!

It’s been a long time since I’ve made a post! I hope that some of you have missed me as much as I missed you. After one hectic and hot summer leading into a “way too warm for my comfort” fall, I got my first clipping contact. I say it starts earlier every year and this year is no different. If this cute guy looks familiar it’s because he’s my headliner for my page.
Loxley is probably one of my favorites from last year. He’s a pretty sensitive fellow who took a little extra time last year to get clipped but this year he was all cool and collected for his clip. His owner and I both agree that he realized not having that hair last year made a difference when he would work with his owner and on those hot days that make me sweat while in an air conditioned house.
I’m excited that his blanket clip was my first of the season and just lines me up to have a great clipping season this year. For anyone who may be interested please let me know. I am taking clients mostly on the weekends but if you are in the Burbank/Glendale area I can do weekdays in the afternoons. If you need a specific time or want a specific clip I am happy to work with you to get you and your horses feeling comfortable in the coming months. Multi clip discounts are bigger this year and travel fees are being waived while my books open up. I look forward to getting to see everyone again this year and hopefully meet some new people! Message me if you have any questions or want references and pictures of my work. Have a good Labor Day everyone ❤️.

Crazy crazy weekend! I’ll make it short since there are so many horses to go through and I have even more this week but I wanted to share with everyone anyways. We have officially hit our summer headfirst so my phone has been working hard with calls and texts from many of you. I am so grateful to have been able to meet so many people doing this and it’s been magical to me. I’m hoping I’ll get to meet even more of you before it’s time to put up my blades for the year. I still have decent availability over the next month and have officially finished my spring classes so have a lot more time in my week so if you’ve been wanting to get your horse clipped but your time frames are wonky feel free to reach out and I’ll see if I can accommodate! Anyways, without further ado, here’s a spill of all the amazing horses I got to do last weekend.

I’m starting to think our weather is being controlled by a mare. One day it’s nice, easy riding with lovely conversations. Next day it’s a wind of arguments and the possibility of flying out of the saddle. And when you think it couldn’t get worse she goes into season and you’re both flooding the paddock with tears of frustration . . .

Well anyways! This mare is not quite as volatile as our weather. Amber is a sweet older Hannovarian mare who can’t stand these weather swings telling her what to do. We spent her entire clip with her happily munching on hay and sloughing off all that tough winter hair. Amber got a full body with head and legs and to say this pretty girl didn’t mind one bit would be an overstatement. She’s earned this year’s best clipping horse for sure.
Amber and I are crossing our fingers and hooves hoping this weather is behind us and we can stop seeing so many spring swings. If your horses are confused by this weather and are worried to let go of their winter coats I still have a few openings in my schedule and am happy to help your horses feel better when it’s warm.

Welcome to the weirdest April ever. I’m pretty sure April Fools is now the entire month instead of the first day with how crazy our weather has been in SoCal. Despite the craziness I had one amazing horse to clip this weekend in Glendale.

Koda is an older mustang owned by a woman who really wanted to help him out with the hot weather. Even though today we were seeing wind, rain, snow and cold weather, another couple days from now we’ll see 80 degree days and she wanted to make sure he’s comfortable on top of her daughter having a party soon that features a real life Spirit.

To say this horse turned into the most pretty Spirit horse I’ve met so far and despite being brand new to clipping. While the initial noise of the clippers coming on were scary, he took it like a champ and the end result is magical. Incredibly glad I could help out Koda and his owner to make him beautiful and comfortable and hope that I can help out a few more horses before the blades go up for the season. My books are filling crazy fast but if you have a horse who might need clipping once this crazy weather is gone I’d love to help you out where I can! Have a great weekend everyone!

I don’t think I’ve ever been jealous of a horse’s hair . . . Until I met Goldie.

This beautiful halflinger mare is the envy of every woman who wishes their hair was long and blonde at any point in their life. And her beautiful coat definitively gives credence to her namesake. This pretty mare may not look it, but she is a senior who recently has been struggling a tad to lose her hair and with how thick her coat got with our mild winter, her owner decided it would help her out to get rid of a bit to keep her cool as it started to get warmer.

I know I have a few of you lovely equestrians on my list for the coming weeks, but if anyone else is interested in helping cool your reluctant, hair-losing horses down with our warmer weather officially striking, give me a shout and I’m happy to work with multiple types of schedules to help you guys out. Happy Easter, everyone!

Nothing steals your heart like a gold-eyed buckskin. This is W***y, one of my longtime clients. He’s a trail horse who gets super sweaty going into this warmer weather so his owner brings him to me! He is by far one of my favorite horses to clip because of how pretty he turns out when he’s shaved. We decided to go with a disco theme for his legs and a heart on his butt and I’m honestly super happy with how he turned out. If you’re someone who would like their own Wooly W***y to be a little less wooly, whether it be a show horse, trail horse or even a retired horse, I’d love to book you in!

Cushings can definitely be tough to deal with. For the horse and for the owner. Resistance to shedding winter coats, heavy sweating, and the chemical imbalances that can cause them to grow coats even with blankets or in the summers. While the hair and the sweat can be a concern, there is always a great option to help your Cushings seniors feel more comfortable, especially as we move into the warmer days of spring, and that is a simple trace clip!

This lovely mare is an aged show horse named Lucky who suffers from the long sweaty hair often associated with Cushings. After doing one of her owner’s clients, the owner decided to give me a call to help get her mare more comfortable. To say I took off a lot of hair would be an understatement. Especially between the back legs, horses like Lucky are often prone to long, matted, sweaty hair, so taking off all that made this mare much happier.

If you happen to have an older horse who just gets too sweaty or doesn’t want to loose that hair I’m taking bookings up to April! I hope I can help make your horses more comfortable moving into this warmer weather.

So it begins! Not only is it the start of the show seasons, but it’s also the beginning of the shed season. And we horse people just LOVE shedding season, right?
To kick off the seasons, I was called out to do this super sweet show horse paint. Definitely one of the most satisfying and relaxing clips I’ve done all season! Clipping white and colored hair from a horse and getting to see what’s underneath is always so cool. This pretty mare got a full body with legs and head. She’ll be going to show later this month and could really use the clean up.
I know for some of us it will be starting the show season and wanting an easy to groom, sleek horse. For others it will be wanting to avoid the hassle that is shed out season. For even more it’ll be those who have older horses that don’t like losing those thick coats as we start to approach the warm months again. Whatever the reason, I am excited to get back to clipping now that our spring is upon us and am looking forward to seeing my spring clients this year. If you want to make an appointment for soon or later I book out to three months in advanced for new clients! Feel free to send any questions my way and I’m happy to supply pictures, prices, recommendations, etc. Happy February!

PONY PRICE UPDATE:
Hello all! Wanted to say happy new year and that I’m super excited to start the year off right with new clippings! Already I have four on the spring schedule and am looking forward to seeing all my repeat clients again to get your horses all looking and feeling fresh again.
That being said all of my pricing from last year is staying the same save one minor price change. After having done more ponies within the last few seasons than when I started I have decided to up only the full body ponies that include the legs from $100 to $150.
While the surface area clipped for a pony versus a horse is smaller, their legs are increasingly harder to do thanks to size of them and my clippers. Regular full body will remain $75 and trace clips on ponies will stay $50, but all pony clips with legs are unfortunately going to have to go up. I hope you’ve all had a great new year and look forward to clipping all your horses this year!
