🐾✨ Retriever Grooming 101: Keep That Golden Glow! ✨🐾

Whether you’ve got a Golden, a Lab, or another lovable retriever mix, one thing’s for sure — these pups shed a lot! But don’t worry, we’ve got your fur-covered back. 🧼🐶

✅ Brush Often – Aim for 2–3 times a week (daily during shedding season!) to keep loose fur under control and reduce tumble-fur around your house.

🛁 Bathe Every 4–6 Weeks – Use a gentle, dog-friendly shampoo to keep their coat shiny without stripping natural oils. And don’t forget a good rinse — retrievers love a roll in the dirt right after!

✂️ Trim That Feathery Fur – Pay special attention to their tail, legs, and behind-the-ears fluff to avoid tangles and mats. A little tidy-up goes a long way!

👂 Ear Care is a Must – Those floppy ears can trap moisture, making retrievers prone to ear infections. Clean regularly and keep ‘em dry!

Is your pup dealing with allergies this spring? 🐶🌼 Don’t worry—we’ve got some grooming tips to help keep the itch away and the tail wags strong! 🛁🐾

✨ Bathe with care – Use a gentle, hypoallergenic or oatmeal-based shampoo to wash away allergens and soothe their skin.
🧽 Rinse thoroughly – Leftover suds = more irritation. Rinse well to keep their skin happy.
🐕 Wipe after walks – A quick wipe on paws and bellies after outdoor time keeps pollen and dust out of your home.
🧴 Brush daily – Brushing helps remove loose fur and allergens, and it feels pawsome.
👂 Check the ears – Allergies can lead to itchy ears! Keep them clean and dry to avoid infections.

🐾 Did you know that scheduling doggy playdates can actually help with grooming sessions? 🐶✂️

When dogs get regular social time with their furry friends, they build confidence, burn off extra energy, and get used to being handled, bumped, and brushed up against—all things that can make grooming a whole lot smoother!

A well-socialized pup is more likely to stay calm and relaxed during baths, brushing, and nail trims. Plus, tired dogs = still dogs. And we groomers LOVE a still dog. 😉

So next time you're setting up a playdate, think of it as a training session in disguise—for better behavior and better grooming!
