UPDATE: Chartreuse has been adopted! :)
Let’s find Chartreuse the perfect forever home! She is the sweetest puppy with the cutest face! 🥰
Barktoberfest & Haunted Trail is happening now from 9am-3pm at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds in the Round Barn. :)
It’s #FindAFriendFriday! Check out our available dogs waiting for forever homes. For more info, visit our website at fairhumane.org ☺️
Check out our exciting collab with Magnolia Soap and Bath Co Lancaster! For the month of August, we will be offering Pet Soap and Pet Purrfume at our location. All proceeds from soap purchases and a portion of the proceeds from the perfume will go towards supporting our shelter animals. Purchases are cash only.
Woofstock 2024 was one for the books! We had a blast and hope you did too. We hope to see everyone again in October for Barktoberfest 2024 - further announcements to come! 🤭
Meet our #DogOfTheWeek: James!
If you are interested in meeting James, an adoption application can be submitted at www.fairhumane.org under the Adopt A Pet tab.
During Atticus's visit with a few of our volunteers, it was discovered that this very smart kitty knows how to sit on command, so of course we had to get it on video!
Atticus is 6 years old, very friendly and loving, and good with dogs, cats, and kids. You can apply to adopt him here: https://www.fairhumane.org/FAHS-Adoption-Application.html.
Happy Tuesday from Casper! Casper is a 12 year old gentleman who’s looking for his forever home. He loves waving at everyone he meets. He’d do well in a home with kids, cats, and calm dogs. For more info, visit www.fairhumane.org
Meet Ramone & Conrad!
These fellas came to us from another shelter and have been with us since February. They are brothers and have lived together their whole lives, so we are searching for a forever home where they can stay together. They have really come out of their shells and love to run and play! When they’re done exploring, all they want is to be glued to their people. They do really well with other dogs, cats, and gentle kids, too!
Adoption fees have been generously sponsored for the month of April in memory of Jon & Jonie Anderson. Let’s help these brothers find their forever home together! To apply, visit www.fairhumane.org
We love a #FAHSAdoptionUpdate!
Genovia (previously Gracie) is having the best time in her new home!
Her mom said:
"Hi, I wanted to share an update about Gracie!
New home, new name! Genovia (Novi for short) is doing to well! I wanted to wait until we hit that 3 month mark to see how her personality has come to life and truly get to share an update. The beginning was a little rough as we transitioned and worked through some separation anxiety. But with a lot of exercise and a good diet she has truly come into her sweet, loving personality. I cannot believe what a blessing it has been to have Novi!! She has brought a comfort to me I could have only prayed for (I did)!
She is loyal beyond belief, she is obedient (though sometimes only after a treat is offered haha), we have done some off leash training so she could run on the property and she LOVES it. She definitely thrives best on a routine, loves car rides, and is so gentle with the little ones. I am so grateful for her first family and their decision to surrender her and give her another opportunity for a happy life.
Thanks for caring for her and allowing me to become her “person”, I love her!!" 🥰🥰🥰
The dogs are enjoying the great weather! For more info on adoptable dogs, visit www.fairhumane.org
Meet our #DogOfTheWeek: Kenny!
Kenny is a 10 year old, 40 pound Pit Bull mix who is deafer than a door nail and sweet as can be! She has entered foster care with a staff member to help us get to know her a little better and to let her decompress out of the shelter setting. Let's find this darling senior girl the perfect home to retire in!
What have we learned about miss Kenny so far? She is a doll! She is housebroken and will gladly sing you the song of her people to let you know she needs to go potty. Otherwise, she spends the rest of her day napping, begging for belly rubs, and searching for treats. She loves being in bed and curling herself up under the blankets.
Kenny was adopted and returned once for not getting along with other dogs in the home. Thankfully, there are several dogs of all different shapes and sizes in her foster home to help us get to the bottom of this! Once Kenny gets settled in, she seems to prefer quieter dogs who are smaller than her. At her age, she's over the bouncy, playful, young dog energy. Who can blame her? 🙂 She could also be just as happy as the only dog in the home. She does very well with cats and kids!
If you are interested in meeting Kenny, an adoption application can be submitted at www.fairhumane.org under the Adopt A Pet tab. Kenny's adoption fee has been sponsored, but normal adoption procedures apply. Kenny will remain in foster care and can be met with an approved application.
