‼️COURTESY POST‼️ This family is NOT located at Lancaster Shelter.
📍CHESTERFIELD COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES SC
Status: Available for immediate release to 501c3 rescue ONLY
This sweet mama came in from a 10 dog cruelty seizure. Within just 3 hours of arriving to the shelter Mama welcomed 7 more lives into this world. While we are thankful that this family has shelter and that mama is of a log chain and receiving regular meals, the shelter is no place for tiny baby beans. The shelter floors are cold and prone to flooding. We know mama, with the help of staff, will do all she can to keep her little ones safe given her circumstances but we desperately need to get this family OUT.
Let’s find this family their Christmas miracle. FOSTER & RESCUE NEEDED NOW 🆘
Pending medical & behavior eval
Please message commitments to @chesterfieldscanimalservices or email [email protected]
Jt is losing hope. He is losing hope every day someone walks past his run and they don't choose him. Nobody has chosen him. He is sad. He is scared. He is lost. The only family he has ever known never came for him. We need to find him safety before it's too late.

Meet JT, a sweet and timid pup who's had a rough start in life. Despite being shy and scared, JT tries his best to be brave. He walks well on a leash with minimal pulling and is eager to please.JT's past is marked by scars, both physical and emotional. He has scars on his legs and seems hesitant around people, suggesting he's had limited socialization. When introduced to a toy, JT was confused, indicating he's never experienced playtime before. Despite all this, JT's willingness to try and his sweet demeanor make him a lovable companion. He needs patience, understanding, and guidance to help him overcome his fears and thrive.
Can you provide JT with the love, care, and second chance he deserves?

Volunteer notes: Rex has been noted to be strong out the gate but otherwise walks very well on leash! He is a curious guy who has to inspect all of his surroundings before settling. Once he’s done sniffing all around the yard he comes over for snuggles. Very responsive and motivated by treats but doesn’t seem to know any commands. However, it’s important to note that many dogs will not respond to commands when they are in fear. It may take him some time to open up and he may just know more than he’s letting on. Either way, we are sure he’ll pick up on thing in not time at all! Rex did seem to enjoy toys to a degree and has a perfect moderate energy level.

Update - no new update, no inquires. Not SAFE.
This sweet momma is sadly serving a bite quarantine. We don't know the details that surround the situation but there were other dogs involved and she may have just been with them. Plus EXTREMELY pregnant and feeling scared for herself out on her own. We don't know.
But what we do know is that momma has been very sweet at the shelter and has allowed handling of her pups with no issues. We can't judge her past because we don't know the full story. But what I can say is that irresponsible dog owners put her in this situation. That is certain. Now it's on us to find her a new beginning. Now it's on us to find a chance for her and her newborn puppies.
Momma will be available for release WITH her babies to 501c3 rescue only.
