Do you guys remember Coco? The adorable dog that came in tetraplegic? She has been continuing her rehabilitation with us, and this is her today, RUNNING! This little girl has been amazing to work with. With determination and fight, she has a new lease on life. ❤️🐾🐾
I would like everyone to meet this special girl Coco! This is the video from my first day with her. In the comments I will post her after 7 days of beginning treatment with rehabilitation and again at 14 days of being with us. Coco suffered a cervical spinal disc compression at C4-5. She was tetraplegic on presentation (paralysis of all limbs), and could barely lift her head. Her mommy knew that she would have a difficult time caring for her at home, and was trying to find an answer for Coco when she found Zen Den. With the help of AV Veterinary Center for boarding Coco and helping with her care, and intensive rehab, Coco is improving in leaps and bounds. She still has a long road, but this girl is all try. A huge shout out to Dr. Tammy Wolfe and the k9 body shop, without her expertise, technique, and patience in teaching me, this wouldn’t be possible. Thank you for passing on your knowledge. We will continue to post updates on Coco’s progress.
Princess rocked her underwater treadmill session today! Princess had surgery on her back at the end of November to alleviate pressure on her spinal cord due to a compressed disc. Princess has recovered exceptionally well, and her mom reports that she’s back to her old tricks. We love working with her. How can you not just adore that face!

Meet our handsome little friend Teag. Teag was found wandering in the desert 🌵, his amazing family took him in. They knew right away that Teag was having some troubles with his hind legs. Teag has been diagnosed with luxating patellas (MPL). Teag is having Rehabilitation twice weekly to help strengthen his muscles and stretch the tight tendons prior to surgery. Teag will be having surgery soon to help correct his condition and will be following up for his post op rehab. This little guy has a BIG personality, and we just adore him and his family here at Zen Den!!
Sweet little Cody had spinal surgery just 4 short weeks ago. Cody has intervertebral disc disease, where the cushioning discs between his spinal vertebrae ruptured causing trauma to his spinal chord. Cody underwent a procedure called a hemilaminectomy, where the surgeon removes part of the vertebrae above and below the affected disc allowing for room to remove the disc material.
Cody’s hind limbs were paralyzed when he first began with us. And look at him now, 3 weeks later.
