We have to dedicate another to Leo's Helping Paws for yet again gifting us a grant. This grant helped us pay for 14 years young, Joya's recent surgery to remove tumors affecting her quality of life. Here is a pupdate provided by her foster mom on she is recuperating.

"I’m happy to report Joya is doing well in recovery. She started walking around the day after the surgery and today her mom reports that she is acting like her old self. She’s also eating scrambled eggs and getting her medicine shoved in Chick-fil-A nuggets so her appetite is good!"

We could not get Joya back on her feet without Leo's Helpful Paws kindness. THANK YOU! ❤️🐾

Sending Out Thank You’s to all the Amazing Bakers who Donated Items for our Bake Sale at Ephrata Agway Yesterday. We raised close to $2600!!! Thank You to our Volunteers and Annie and her crew at Ephrata Agway for Everything you do for Leo’s Helping Paws ❤️🐾
The Money raised yesterday covered 2 Grant Requests we received recently.
First was Reed's Rescue for the Vet Care of 14 Year old “Joya” Here is an update from her Foster Mom

I’m happy to report Joya is doing well in recovery. She started walking around the day after the surgery and today her mom reports that she is acting like her old self. She’s also eating scrambled eggs and getting her medicine shoved in Chick-fil-A nuggets so her appetite is good! ❤️🐾

Second Grant was to American Lab Rescue (ALR) for the Vet Care of “Gregory”. We didn’t have a good picture of him, so I used one from their page that looked like him! 🥰
Here is his Story…

We rescued Gregory today from the shelter and he is need of heartworm treatment that we do not have funding for. We could not leave this sweet adult at the shelter, where they would adopt out hw + and his life would not have a good outcome, or if not adopted he would be euthanized. Gregory is 7 years old and deserves so much more. We are requesting help to have him treated for heartworm so he can find a loving family to live out his golden years.

Thank You for Supporting Leo’s Helping Paws. Rescues Desperately Need Our Help and we couldn’t do it without your Support! 🐾❤️🐾

With all the Attention on the Super Bowl and New Orleans Art being featured at Jackson Square in New Orleans, Louisiana we wanted to remind people of our Raffle for Leo’s Helping Paws.

RAFFLE DRAWING for a chance of a lifetime!!!!

GET YOUR TICKETS NOW!!!

Leo’s is privileged to be able to offer this beautiful artwork to ONE LUCKY WINNER.

“My baby made a clown out of me” was created by George Rodrigue, a Louisiana artist made famous by his Blue Dog Series. Inspired by a Louisiana Cajun legend AND his own dog Tiffany, The Blue Dog was made popular beginning in 1992. Since its creation, Blue Dog has become a modern day icon. Sadly, Rodrigue died in 2013.

In 2009, the owner of the original canvas painting donated it to the New Orleans Museum of Art, and in 2024, his daughter donated this beautiful signed print of the original to Leo’s.

This is a framed 13" X 16" original print, signed by the artist. There are only 50 prints like this available worldwide. The winner of this raffle will be one very lucky owner!

Leo’s is selling raffle tickets for a chance to own your very own Blue Dog. Tickets can be purchased for $5 or get 5 tickets for $20.

In honor of both the artist and the donors love of New Orleans, we will hold the drawing on the first day of Mardi Gras, Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 8:00pm.

This Post is an Example of what happens when people don’t understand the Dangers of Ear Cropping. Thankfully the Owner surrendered the Pup to a Rescue! (Please Refrain from posting Negative Comments) We recently gave a Grant to Doberman Underground Rescue for the Vet Care of “Magnum”, a 5 month old puppy. This was their message…

Magnum’s condition developed when wires were used to hold up his cropped ears. The combination of open wounds, dampness, and rusting metal created the perfect storm for Tetanus bacteria to thrive. The toxin from Tetanus causes extreme muscle stiffness, freezes facial and throat muscles—making it impossible to swallow—and leads to excruciating pain.

The Vet Bills to treat Magnum were astronomical!!
Leo’s was Happy to Help by giving a $1500 Grant towards his Vet Care. ❤️🙏🐾
