Artist submissions closed!
Thank you to EVERYONE who applied (close to 200 people btw) 🤩😳🫠🫡

If you’ve expressed interest in being one of our local artists for 2026, thank you. We’ve loved seeing your creative and artistic pieces that you’ve submitted. Supporting and highlighting local artists and their work was high up on my list of “exciting things to do” when starting the cafe, and having it come to life is such a dream.

So happy to say that we are slated to have 36 really amazing artists and artisans displaying and selling their work here in the year 2026.

This is something that means a lot to us, so as long as we’re open, we’d love to keep having different artists in each month of the year. While we’re all set for 2026, I’ll be putting out requests for artists again next year, so please reapply then (if you’re within an hour from the Lanc area ❤️ Cuz we wanna s u p p o r t l o c a l )

Can’t wait for everyone to see the lovely, charming, beautiful things we’ll have in the cafe in the coming year 🫶

We had such a beautiful, cozy, and silly thanksgiving with you.

We made some great new friends today, shared cookies with each other, and overall just had a lovely time. It means so much that folks came because they knew they’d feel safe and welcome in this community space. Also, Marble Cat Head was obviously a huge hit and is now a thanksgiving tradition.

So grateful for our friends and neighbors,

CAT CAFE CALENDARS ARE HEREEEE!

We can’t wait for you to see our one-of-a-kind calendars now displayed in the cafe! Each page of the calendar has a real cafe kitty featured; some new and some from the very beginning (we think the OG fans will be stoked). We only have a limited supply (and do not ship, I’m sorry far away friends), so come grab them while they’re here 😻

Today!

Now what you’ve REALLY been waiting for…
ORCA is excited to formally invite you to our FREE Open House this Friday , November 21st! Our doors will be open from 8 am - 10 PM to celebrate , hang out with our adoptable kitties and learn more about ORCA‘s mission! (And meet our Office Manager Rodeo)

This is a rare opportunity as visiting our rescue is by appointment only and is not open to the public…except for Friday! 😉 ❤️🐾

We will also be accepting donations of dry/ wet cat and dog food, pet beds, litter etc but it is not required for entry

We can’t wait to see all of you and your presence and contributions mean more to us than you could ever know!

We finally got a chance to bop over to Carlisle to see our friends at cat cafe! We’ve been wanting to visit for a while and we’re so glad we were finally able to make the trip! And of course, we made some new best friends in the process.

We are looking for local artists for the new year!

We’re so stoked and proud to say we’ve had 20(!!!) small, independent local artists sell their stuff at the cafe so far. We love highlighting these creative and talented folks and getting to see customers support this local art. And nooow, we’re looking for more of you for the new year!

If you’d like to be considered as a vendor/artist in 2026, please EMAIL [email protected] (please don’t DM, god knows they’ll all get lost) with:

- your name/artist handle
- examples or links to your art and a description of what you make (We love to feature art that’s cat themed, btw 😉)
- the confirmation that AI was NOT USED in the creation of your art/wares

Please note, not all art submitted will be accepted as we have a small space to work with, limited timeframes, and some stuff might just not be the best fit. But that’s okay, everyone is into different stuff and like someone cool once said “I’m not the art police” 🧡👀

We’re excited for the new year and all the new artists we’re gonna meet and gas up! 🎉🥳

Important and gently firm PSA time.
Every single day, we get emails from folks who have: found a cat. Are looking to rehome a cat. Are trying to surrender cats. Have kittens in their backyard that they don’t know what to do with, etc, etc, etc. Every email either starts or ends with “can you take this cat at the cat cafe?”

We appreciate that these messages are well-meaning and that folks are looking out for these cats’ best interests by trying to place them where it seems to make sense (a cat cafe). However, the answer is always going to be no. Here’s why:

We are not a shelter or a rescue. We partner with Columbia Animal Shelter and Orca in downtown Lancaster: true, certified shelter/rescues that take animals in, care for them, provide them medical treatment as needed, and adopt them out to approved adopters. These are facilities that work with vet staff to make sure these animals are medically cared for and safe to interact with each other and humans. There are processes in place to ensure this so that we know each cat is ready and screened to be at the cat cafe.

Our role is fostering the cats that we have at the cafe through these organizations and helping to facilitate their socialization process that ultimately leads to their adoptions. This work is wonderful and rewarding; we love that we are able to help these babies find their ways into forever homes.

Our role can also be providing resources to folks in need about where and who they can reach out to for help regarding these different scenarios. We are happy to be able to do this.

As we grow, we are looking to expand our partnerships so that we CAN help more cats come in and ultimately find their happy endings with loving adopters. This is a high priority that we’re working on currently.

As you can imagine, receiving these messages every day and not being able to help or take these cats in is pretty emotionally taxing. We want to help how we can, and work to provide that help by directing people to our lists of resources of shelters, rescues and organizations that do the work that you are looking for.

Please keep this in mind when you find a cat that is in need: we can help you locate resources. We cannot take the cat.
