Today is International Day of Charity. We wanted to feature a rescue that we work with on a regular basis called Zoe's House Inc. We hope that on this day if you have the means or time to do so to look into helping them. They are always accepting donations to help with funding their rescues. They often take on dogs with complicated medical problems and provide them with the care that some shelters or other rescues may not be able to provide.
If you do not have the means to donate, then you can also look into volunteering. They have many different needs that you can volunteer to help with from fostering, to processing applications, and helping out at events.

We are a 501(c)3 dog rescue where rescue is just the beginning. Zoe's House provides medical and foster care while searching for the right forever home for the dogs. www.zoeshouserescue.com

Today is take your cat to the vet day. Here are some tips to help your cat be less stress when coming to the vet.
1. Acclimate your kitten or cat to their carrier. Often our feline friends only see their carrier when going to the vet. Leaving the carrier out all the time and feeding their favorite treats, playing around and in it, and putting a soft bed in it can help them with creating a positive association.
2. Using their favorite treats to get them in the carrier and then bring some along to their visit. We use treats, squeeze cheese, and churu during their exams, but some cats have preferences for certain flavors or type of treats we may not have.
3. Using a soft blanket in their carrier that they are familiar with can help them feel safe and comfortable.
4. Incorporate the use of calming pheromones. Feliway is the main one we recommend. It comes in a bottle that you can spray the blankets/inside of carrier and allow to dry prior to travel.
5. If your pet is still stressed doing these things please discuss calming medications. We have some natural chews if your cat is willing to eat them as a choice, but also have prescription medications that can be given a couple of hours prior that may help to significantly reduce your cats stress prior to their visit. Please feel free to reach out to us before your appointment to discuss if we can prescribe them for your cat's visit.

A client of ours has a cat that they have been caring for and are looking to find him a home. We are sharing to help them out.

"His name is Buddy. He is a 5year old tabby cat. He gets along well with small dogs and children, but we're unsure of other cats, as we do not have any others.
Originally was our older son's cat, but due to having to relocate for work, he was unable to take him with. We decided to take care of him till we could find him a home. He is an indoor cat, is litter trained, neutered, loves belly rubs and being brushed."

Please call 717-725-9973 if you are interested in adopting him.
