Help us help the Lancaster SPCA!

On Tuesday, the shelter's HVAC system broke, leaving parts of the facility sweltering during record-high temperatures. They were able to transport the cats to other SPCA locations, but a backup unit kept other areas cool.

Then, on Thursday, the backup unit broke, bringing temperatures inside the building to over 100 degrees!!

Some of their adoptable dogs are staying with us until the repairs are made, and they are such a wonderful group of dogs!

🎆🇺🇸 Fourth of July Safety Tips 🇺🇸🎆

As we gear up for fireworks, food, and fun, don’t forget about your furry family members! The Fourth of July can be stressful and even dangerous for pets. These patriotic pugs have a few ways to keep them safe and calm:

🐾 Keep Pets Indoors: Even if they’re usually outside, bring them in. Fireworks can cause even the calmest pets to bolt.

🐾 Create a Safe Space: Set up a quiet, comfy area with their favorite bed, toys, and maybe some calming music.

🐾 Avoid Party Foods: Many BBQ foods are toxic to pets — including onions, grapes, chocolate, and alcohol.

🐾 Check ID Tags & Microchips: Make sure your pet’s info is up-to-date in case they do get scared and run off.

🐾 Don’t Bring Pets to Fireworks Shows: The loud booms and bright lights can be terrifying — better to leave them at home.
