Today is the International Day of Radiology!
Unfortunately, your pets are not see-thru. Chances are one of our veterinarians have recommended taking a radiograph (aka x-ray) to diagnose an issue. X-rays are the oldest and most frequently used form of veterinary medical imaging and a great non-invasive way to diagnose the following -
🔲Broken bones: X-rays can help vets identify broken bones in the spine and limbs.
🔲Foreign objects: X-rays can help vets locate and identify objects stuck in an animal's digestive tract.
🔲Enlarged organs: X-rays can help vets identify enlarged organs, which may indicate a condition like heart disease or cancer.
🔲Pregnancy: X-rays can help vets detect pregnancy in animals.
🔲Tumors: X-rays can help vets identify tumors beneath the gums or other areas of the body.
🔲Dental health: X-rays can help vets determine which teeth are healthy and if any need to be extracted.
🔲Heart health: X-rays can help vets identify the heart silhouette and large blood vessels in the lungs.
🔲Lung issues: X-rays can help vets identify fluid in the lungs, which is called pulmonary edema.

Hi everyone!
Meet "Phoenix", a loveable 5 month old Mastiff mix who would love to find his forever home!
This handsome boy lives in a foster home with 3 other dogs and an 8 year old. He is a bit shy but after a week of routines he has really come out of his shell and loves to go for walks, play, and get every single toy out of the toybox! He was nervous around his foster dad at first but now he spends his evenings glued to his side!
He is doing wonderfully with crate training, potty training, leashed walks, and has already mastered "sit" and "leave it". Slow intros with men and other dogs will set him up for success.
Are you ready to add this sweet boy to your home? Reach out to the Lancaster SPCA to schedule a meet and greet! 💗
We will be closed between 12pm - 2pm today for a staff meeting!
