Summer is officially here, and it's time to enjoy the sun! ☀️ But remember, your pets need protection from harmful UV rays just like we do. Here are some tips to keep your furry friend's skin safe:

🐾 Seek Shade: Make sure your pet has access to shade to avoid overexposure to the sun.

🐾 UV Clothing: Invest in UV clothing designed for pets or use a human UV tee for extra protection during long hikes or sunny days.

🐾 Pet-Safe Sunscreen: Use a pet-safe sunscreen on exposed, non-pigmented areas like noses, ears, and underbellies. Remember, zinc oxide is toxic to pets.

🐾 Protect Indoor Pets: Even window-loving pets need protection. Apply UV film to your windows to shield them from harmful rays.

Pets that enjoy sunbathing or outdoor exercise are at risk for skin issues like melanoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Early detection is key, so contact your vet if you notice any unusual lumps or bumps. Stay vigilant, and enjoy a safe and sunny summer with your pets ☀️
