πŸ„Roxy (A029945) came in as a stray from the Port Richey on January 13th. Wen she was brought in with another shepherd, we traced her microchip where the people hung up immediately when stated why we were calling. Sadly, Roxy has sat in our shelter since. Roxy, a beautiful black and tan shepherd, has been struggling since her arrival at the shelter. Unfortunately, Roxy's behavior has not shown significant improvement, and she is becoming increasingly anxious and fearful in the shelter environment. She has been lunging and displaying fear-aggressive behaviors in her kennel, which is a direct result of her overwhelming fear and lack of trust in new situations. Roxy's previous owner has been unresponsive. Roxy was ultimately left behind in the shelter, where her stress continues to build. Shelter life is taking a toll on her mental well-being, and without the proper support, she could continue to spiral further into anxiety. Roxy has shown kind behaviors when she isn’t shaking or trying to escape her kennel. She has been in playgroup where she is gentle and dainty with the other pups. Roxy needs a calm and understanding environment where she can decompress and begin to trust again. If you are a rescue with the capacity to help her, please act quickly. Roxy’s deadline is up January 30th at 5:30 PM. She is currently in need of a rescue transferβ€”no direct adoptions from the shelter.

Pasco was able to have a historical meeting yesterday which will help all animals and try and get them either homes, or rescues and trying to inform the public even more about their importance with animals too.

Very grateful to everyone who participated across the region.

https://www.abcactionnews.com/news/local-news/pasco-animal-services-hosts-life-saving-pep-rally-to-save-more-animals-across-county-lines?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR1y6nisc1r8XHxbk5gBFSPCbuvNNeX3y0V73jYWrYQWbtRqpXpqidgfYEM_aem_mFK0qleQMWHKP9NziyKWQA

Reinvigorating missions and saving more animals β€” that is the goal for Pasco Animal services as it calls together a meeting of the minds with non-profit rescues, cities and counties across our region.

😿Oscar (A029842) is a 9-month-old, back and white cat, and weighs 8 pounds. Oscar arrived on January 8th as an injured stray from the Port Richey area. The finder stated Oscar was laying in the middle of the road and in obvious distress. He was brought to Animal Emergency where the advised Oscar presented no inures. At the time of his arrival, the shelter’s radiograph machine was un-usable, so we didn’t know what his true condition was. Oscar was stable with a slight limp. Once our machine was up and running, the rads taken showed a hairline pelvic fracture. Oscar’s plan is a minimum 6 weeks of cage rest with a potential ortho eval, pending his healing process. While Oscar is gentle and kind, a shelter is not a proper place to heal, and we cannot keep him in the medical ward for 6+ weeks due to the potential of illness and reaching shelter capacity to house sick/injured kitties. Oscar is neutered, up to date on all core vaccines, FIV/FELV negative, and microchipped. Oscar is available for Rescue OR a waive fee adoption for a willing new adopter who could take on a kitty needing love, cage rest, and a vet follow up. His deadline is Tuesday, January 28th by 5:30pm.

✴️ATTN RESCUES✴️ NEW VIDEO

Good afternoon rescue partners,

🐠 RUDY (A030172) is a 3-year-old, black and white Pitbull mix, and weighs 29 pounds. Rudy arrived as a sick and injured Stray from the Dade City area on January 22nd. Rudy was a sweet boy since the beginning and is a certified β€œwiggle butt”. During his medical exam, they noticed puncture wounds on his front legs, head, and ears. Rudy is sweeter than sugar, gentle, and very loving. Rudy is hoping someone can give him the new life he desperately deserves with a quarantine commitment and rescue placement. Rudy is surprisingly heartworm negative, is now microchipped and up to date on his core vaccines. Rudy will be neutered prior to leaving the shelter.

We currently have a dog in our care that has been deemed β€œWounds of Unknown Origin”. This classification indicates that the dog has arrived in our care presenting wounds/bite marks/injuries inflicted by an unknown animal, therefore placing them at risk for potential Rabies exposure. Per state veterinary/health department guidelines, the dog would be required to quarantine at a Pasco veterinary clinic, under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian (period of time may vary). In order to do this, the dog would need a rescue commitment and guarantor to accept ownership and care during and after said quarantine. PCAS may provide references of Pasco veterinarians that participate in the WUO boarding program, in the event that a rescue can commit to any positive outcome/release from our shelter. If you can help our survivor discharge/transfer, please email your commitment of transfer to [email protected] NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 29th BY 4:00PM. Thank you so much.

πŸͺΈCormac (A030000) is a 14-year-old, red chihuahua, and weighs 16 pounds. Cormac arrived as a sick stray on January 15th from the New Port Richey area. Cormac had no hair, scaly red skin, and severely crusted eyes. He was in serious need of medical assistance. Cormac’s skin was so inflamed, he hurt to be touched and was very fractious upon intake. Understandingly, we gave him medication and a few days to decompress. Cormac also is dealing with dental disease, inflamed ears, and eye infections. Cormac has been in social settings where he was noted to be gentle and dainty with other pets. While medical care is being provided by PCAS, he does require care beyond the capacity of the shelter and the shelter environment is no longer appropriate for his medical. It is recommended shimmer tear test and eval at full service once transferred to rescue for dental, skin, and ear work up. Cormac is neutered, up to date on all core vaccines, and heartworm negative. Cormac is available for 501c-3 rescue transfer ONLY. His deadline is Monday, February 3rd by 4pm.

A Heartbreaking πŸ’” ( Pasco County FL )

UPDATE JANUARY 21ST, 2025
Today :( Stopped by to give them some sweater and pj for Bella and 2 warmer jackets for Mike. He gave one of the jackets to Bella. She was sooo happy to see me. She was warm and soo wiggly. Mike is a little down lately :( He didn't want anything, he had some lunch before I saw him. He is staying in same place, sleeping under the bank's roof and people are most nice to them. I can't imagine being where they are, specially in this weather. I wish I was rich, I wish I had a place for them to stay. I cried last few weeks just thinking of them . Bella is on 2nd round of antibiotics since she started with urinary infection. Mike also should go to a dr again but his insurance will kick in on feb 1st ( no idea how this works ). He has feet and hands warmers , another sweet person gave him a sleeping bag, he got some blankets and of course gift cards to close by Aldi etc . He is very grateful but I can see he is very depressed. Girls from Pasco County Animal Services helping still with meds and food for Bella. We still waiting for the stones lab results. I know um blabbering but I just can't think straight :(

His gofund me have some $ in but if he will use to stay at the hotel ( which is very expensive in the area he need to stay ) he will not have $ for just in case if anything happen. :(

UPDATE JANUARY 13TH, 2025
MIKE AND BELLA are back on the streets as of this am :(he is still at WAWA / ACHIVA BANK on trinity BLVD XOXO

UPDATE JANUARY 10TH, 2025
1ST THANK YOU ALL WHO HELPED!!!
AS OF NOW they will be back at the Little Rd and Trouble Creek lot tomorrow. Hotel is paid until tomorrow am. We don't have any room, place , work etc for him as of now. Few people tried but as of now nothing come out from it. If any of you have any idea about job and place to live ( cooking etc or fixing cars , boats, heavy machinery ) pls let me know xoxo

Some of you may recall the story of Mike and his beloved dog, Bella. This homeless man's love and devotion to his furry companion are a testament to the transformative power of love. He and Bella are well known by people from Trinity FL. ( not only ) Their " home " is Target's parking lot.

Bella's recent health scare was a wake-up call for Mike. When she began bleeding for over 5 weeks, Mike thought she was in heat, but as the weeks passed, he knew he needed help.
With the assistance of kind-hearted woman Tonya Arthur Cotton ( screen shot of the post in 1st comment ) and Kayleigh Cooper who had supported them for years, Mike reached out for aid.
Someone tagged me and I reached out to dear friend Gina begging for help. Gina reach out to Jen from Golden EARS Sanctuary and she dropped everything to help with transport from Trinity in to the shelter.

Our community sprang into action! Amazing Gina Marie at Pasco County Animal Services, PCAS Director, Dr. Glenn and few other employees from our county shelter worked tirelessly to save Bella's life. After a series of tests, Bella underwent emergency cystotomy/spay surgery, and her recovery was nothing short of miraculous.
We also got so many amazing people, strangers who come together and helped him and his fur baby stay at the local hotel when she was recovering.

Throughout this ordeal, Mike's love and dedication to Bella have been unwavering. Despite facing incredible challenges, Mike prioritizes Bella's well-being above his own, ensuring she's fed and warm before himself. Even being sick he didn't go to a doctor UNTIL he knew Bella is ok.

But Mike's story extends far beyond his love for Bella. This skilled individual, who attended culinary school and has expertise in mechanics ( he said if it has an engine, I can work on it. Cars boats trucks, forklift big heavy machinery. And Yes, I'm an awesome cook. ) has been living on the streets with Bella for over 11 years. Despite his circumstances, Mike remains hopeful for a brighter future.

Mike's dream is to find a safe haven where he and Bella can live together, free from the dangers of the streets. He longs to work and provide for himself and his loyal companion. Mike's passion for cooking and mechanics could be the key to a new beginning.

A GoFundMe page has been created to support Mike and Bella. We're grateful for any donations, shares, or connections that can aid Mike in finding employment and stability. Ideal place where he can work and live for now ;)

Let's come together to support this incredible duo! Mike's stay at the hotel will end soon, and he's preparing to return to the streets. With your help, we can provide Mike and Bella with a chance at a new life. We also learned today ( Jan 7th ) that his papers for hotel vouchers were declined :( )

Please consider donating to their GoFundMe page ( πŸ”΄https://www.gofundme.com/f/urgent-vet-care-for-bella?attribution_id=sl:f15fd1fc-e840-4770-908a-7427fcb9a32f&utm_campaign=natman_sharesheet_dash&utm_medium=customer&utm_source=copy_link

✴️ATTN RESCUES✴️

🏎️ Kumer (A029901) is a 4-year-old, black and white Great Dane/Pointer mix, and weighs 63 pounds. Kumer was brought to animal services on January 9th as an abandonment case. We were told the previous owner left him behind for a roommate to care for and never returned. :( He was left with Phenobarbital, and it was stated he did have seizures. Since he’s been in our care, Kumer have been on his medication and is doing great!

Our concern is Kumer will need a full service follow up for his seizures as PCAS does not carry those medications. PCAS will neuter him when he has a discharge date due to a potential seizure reaction from anesthesia. Kumer is a spunky, sweet boy who loves his people! Kumer is heartworm negative, up to date on all core vaccines, and now microchipped. Kumer is rescue ONLY and must receive a rescue commitment by Tuesday, January 21st by 4:00pm.

We have multiple animals in urgent need of rescue help. If you can assist any of these animals safely out of the shelter, please email [email protected] as soon as possible. Thank you.

UPDATE Pasco County Animal Services (PCAS) has a dog in desperate need to leave the shelter. This dog MUST receive a commitment by SATURDAY, 1/18 6:30pm. If you can help her safely out of the shelter, please email [email protected] as soon as possible. Thank you.

🩷 IMOGEN (A029089) is a 2-year-old, grey and white bulldog mix, and weighs 34 pounds. Imogen arrived on December 10th as a stray from the Hudson area. Imogen came in just as her stature; Teeny, sweet, and the cutest face around! Shockingly, this little ball of love wasn’t reclaimed by any owner. Our medical team was able to fix her cherry eye during her spay. She was shortly adopted after, and we were thrilled for her! However, it was quickly learned by the adopters she had some smaller animal aggression. She was not a fan of their mini dachshund and had to be separated. They also stated she became territorial with their young child when it came to toys. Other than those 2 concerns, they stated she was a good dog!

πŸ†˜οΈThere have been multiple accounts of her meeting medium to larger dogs and having no issues. After her return to the shelter, the staff noticed a behavioral decline. Between lashing out in her kennel, becoming mouthy (but not breaking skin), and grabbing at her kennel bars, it was evident Imogen was struggling with the shelter life. Imogen is a volunteer and staff favorite; she may require a rescue with a more watchful eye on her behaviors and more defined home requirements. Imogen is spayed, up to date on all core vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

CAN BE ADOPTED OR RESCUED.
