Xtreme Million barrel race in Queen Creek, AZ round 1!

Leo is getting more and more comfortable with hauling and running in new arenas. He was so solid through it all today - even when he overreached and pulled a front shoe, going into the 3rd barrel. He stumbled and it threw us off guard but we recovered and stayed in the average. Onto round 2 tomorrow!

It doesn’t get much better than Wickenburg, AZ in the winter! We would like to remind everyone we have Cesar de la Cruz at our place offering weekly team roping clinics and Makayla Boisjoli offering weekly breakaway clinics. (Sign up for either by contacting us) We have also been busy with private lessons, team roping practice and working on our next round of prospects! 🌵

Wow! We cannot be more excited about Joelle and Leo’s continued success. They finished 2nd in the 1D of the amateur futurity today and finished 3rd in the 1D average at the Greg Olsen barrel race! They were 6th place in the 2D of the Open futurity.

The MVP barrel race was our first futurity and Leo, aka, I Am The Kats Meow - did not disappoint! He laid down 2 super consistent runs over the two days placing us 6th in the Open 2D and 3rd in the Amateur 2D. It’s going to be cool to see how he finds his confidence and speed as we go through this futurity year.

“What other people think of you is none of your business.” - Regina Brett ….. But when I do hear the opinions of others and the rumors that are being spread about me, behind my back, it’s the best motivator for me. I started roping at 20 years old because of a group of gals, in a small town, that said I would never be able to do it….So this is me, at 35, barrel racing for my first time, making my first futurity horse and cashing checks because apparently - I “would never be able to do it.” 😉✌🏻

Porky aka Smokin Caspers Cat // A 2019 gelding by A&C Racing’s “Reys Smoking Dually” has been stepping up and handling the pressure, collecting two paychecks this week.
