Bodhi, my #rescue #ChesapeakeBayRetriever had his second appointment at the vets. Blood draw and Lime shot. He was much better than last time but still took a lot of prep and three bodies. But when the blood draw and shot was over. He was as happy boy and wanted to say hello to Dr. Mattson. #awesomejob Bodhi. Time for an egg sandwich from #tunnelcoffee Good News. No heart worm Interesting news. Was posititive and limes and something else. So was Pops this year even though both are protected. Well. A little doxycycline for a month and should be right as rain. And. Might be a reason he has some anxiety. Though this past two weeks he's shown vast improvement. I knew he'd be a work in progress. And he is just that and doing really well.
**Meet George and Sherlock.**
This is a heartwarming story of resilience, dedication, and second chances. Sherlock, who we believe is a #Sheepadoodle or another herding breed mix, was first rescued by George. However, Sherlockās behavioral challenges became overwhelming, and George made the difficult decision to return him.
Months passed, and when no one else came forward to adopt Sherlock, George decided to give him another chance. He rescued him again and committed to finding the help they needed to thrive.
Itās been an absolute honor to work with them. During our second session, the transformation was already incredible. The first time we met, Sherlock was all growls, bared teeth, and stress, and I kept thinking I shouldāve worn more protective gear. Today? A completely different dog.
When I called his name, Sherlock not only looked at me willinglyāwithout tension or confrontationābut also wagged his tail and lay down off his hip. That posture, so relaxed and confident, is exactly what I look for in a happy dog. It was like he was saying, āIāve got this.ā
We took things further, working on leash manners and impulse control. Sherlock even met my chickens in the #ChickenTractor. At first, it was thrilling for him, but he quickly learned to calm down, greet Janice the chicken politely, and realize that pulling and lunging werenāt the answer.
By the end of the session, we were walking in the field with a long leash. Sherlock zoomed around, checked in with George, and truly looked like a happy, carefree dog.
But the real hero here is George. His patience, dedication, and determination to give Sherlock the life he deserves are nothing short of inspiring. George is proof that there are truly awesome humans in the world. He is very high on my list. My hat is off to you sir!!

If youāve been following along for the last four months, you know itās been a journey helping Bodhi and Pops find their groove together. Weāve had barking battles, room swaps, and lots of trial and error to keep things calm and safe. Bodhi's growling, Popsā sizeā¦ it took time for these two boys to learn each other's signals without feeling threatened or getting nervous.
Yesterday, I took a chance, took down all the gates, put Bodhi on a leash just for a bit, and let them move through the house freely. To my surprise, they managed just one little grumble, which Bodhi quickly walked away from. But the biggest milestone came tonight: Bodhi on my left, Pops on my right, both peacefully snoozing, with Wicket curled up at our feet. No barking, no stressājust harmony.
As a behaviorist, I lean on structure and confidence-building over medication, but sometimes a little support helps. I tried CBD with Bodhi but saw little difference. After consulting our vet, we gave a Chinese supplement called āHappy Liverā a shot, for its āanger managementā properties. Combined with behavior modification, steady exposure, and patience, itās paying off.
Living here on the farm, doors open, no musical roomsāthis is what itās all about. Bodhi, Pops, Wicket, and me, all in sync. Happy moments like this make every challenge worth it.

Wicket wisely escaped photos. But then again he is an ewok. #happyholoweenšš»
Though Wicket, our #JackRussellMix , has neurological issues and is almost completely blind, he manages to tell me wants his second breakfast.
And though he be but little, he is fierce.

We've turned a little bit of a corner today. Bodie has gone in the last two weeks from being pretty assertive with pops, to being very respectful of him in his space. I think pops freaked him out once and he's figured out he's bigger he's more established but he's not aggressive. Nervousness makes Bodhi growl triggering a lot of adrenaline and then he'll lash out. Pops has been being awesome. Troubles would help very proud of him. Helping a very reactive dog takes patience and a trust that we've worked on for years. Now if only Wicket wouldn't run in and cause a ruckus from time to time. š
Pops wats to play but Bodhi is still much too cautious. But this is another big step in the ingration of a #chessie with an extremly tough start for a #ChesapeakeBayRetriever who is very happy to finally have a home but nit sure how to pkay second fiddle to a much mire established and Large #tosainu we are at three months now and progress is coming in much bigger chuncks everyday. Still going smart and slow
The importance of name recognition! As some of you know, our new #rescue #ChesapeakeBayRetriever Bodhi can get a bit anxious when playtime gets too wild. Wicket, our blind and neurologically-challenged Jack Russell-Poodle mix, doesnāt always make things easy. But part of Bodhi's growth is learning to be the bigger dog (though not the biggest!). Navigating these sibling dynamics is a process, but with patience, they're finding their rhythm together.
Milestone yesterday when Bodhi amd @tosapops we able to take our first walk together. Huge win for him
Stay tuned for more of their journey as they figure out how to coexist and thrive! #DogTraining #SiblingDynamics #RescueDog #AnxiousDog #BlindDog #CanineBehavior #ChesapeakeBayRetriever #JackRussellMix #LifeWithDogs #MultiDogHousehold"
Meet Inari, a 2.5-year-old Black Mouth Cur in need of a new forever home. She was adopted two years ago and is an incredibly sweet, smart, and loving dog. Unfortunately, her current home has gone through some big changes, which have been tough on her.
Iāve worked with Inari a couple of times, and sheās truly a gemāintelligent, eager to please, and affectionate. Now, weāre looking to place her in a more stable and calm environment where she can thrive.
Iām also offering a few free training sessions to help her adjust to her new home. Sheās located in Berkshire County.
If you're interested, send me a message here or visit the link in my bio and i can send her adoption form. Letās find this amazing girl the home she deserves!

Our little Jack Russell Poodle mix, Wicket, got into a bit of a scuffle with our newly adopted Chessie, Bodhi. Wicketās fine now, but heās one tough little guy! Might have to rename him #Braveheart, though his #Ewok name still suits him well.
This morning, a stressful moment between them flared up over Pops barking at a speeding neighbors car and a toy starfish. So, a quick trip to @greylockanimalhospital to get Wicket checked out. Dr. Mattison knicked him out, cleaned him up, and did a thorough exam. No stitches needed, thankfully! Heās resting now, waiting for the sedation to wear off.
Time for Bodhi to have a training session and take his #CBD chews. I canāt blame himāheās still adjusting after three years in a shelter, and Wicket holds his own! They actually play a lot ans like to hangout.

The boys are loving the newly enclosed fence! Added welded wire mesh to the horse fencing after Pops broke through an inch-thick Larch horse fence, secured with 2-inch nails. The neighbors kept racing by in cars amd atvs baiting him to the point heād had enough. Seriously, who baits a Tosa Inu Mastiff, especially one with such a rough start in life? Unbelievable behavior from so-called 'upstanding citizens.'

Well with the fence moved back 2 feet, don't ask but small town politics and complicit government, I added the welded wire to the entire house horse fencing. Which means Wicket, Pops, and Bodhi can run free. I think this is the first time Wicket has ever been allowed just to roam. He did great. We just keep our eyes up as there are very large hawks, owls, and the occasional Bald Eagle around. have extra boards in case Baloo decided to visit again. #rescuedog #rescuedog #tosainu #happydog
