🐴🐎 HOPE horse of the week 🐴🐎
❤️❤️❤️ Cocoa ❤️❤️❤️

Cocoa is a 13-year-old silver-black miniature horse with a larger-than-life personality. Though small in stature, she certainly makes up for it with her Diva-like charm, always enjoying the spotlight and relishing in attention. Cocoa is the perfect introduction to the world of horses for anyone who might feel apprehensive around HOPE’s larger horses. She adores being groomed and loved on by HOPE’s students and volunteers. Her favorite activities include playfully bossing around her best friend, Griffin, and indulging in the simple pleasure of rolling in the dirt. Cocoa’s love for food is well-known, though she’s always happy to share her grain with the barn dog. With her endearing personality and playful nature, Cocoa is a beloved member of the HOPE family.

We have volunteers that can help coordinate pick up / drop off of donations all over the island.

We are always in need of tack. If we don’t have a horse that the tack fits we will consign it as a fundraiser.

Featured HOPE Herd Member of the week :
☀️🌅 SUNRISE ☀️🌅

Sunrise is a beautiful 22-year-old Quarter Horse mix, standing at 14.2 hands. Her striking red roan coat is a beautiful sight.

Rescued from a kill pen eight years ago, Sunrise’s past has shaped her into a deeply sensitive and intuitive soul. She has an incredible ability to sense the emotions of those around her, offering quiet comfort and companionship when needed most. Though she carries the weight of her past, she’s a strong, loving presence in the barn.

Sunrise has made her home with her new friends, Griffin and Cocoa, and she leads the herd with grace and confidence. As the leader, she ensures she’s always first at mealtime. She loves being around everyone at the barn and enjoys the daily visits from the dog and cat, adding to the warmth and harmony of her little community.

Sunrise is a special, caring girl, and those who know her are blessed by her gentle nature and quiet strength.

Sunrise is a horse that is leased by HOPE. HOPE is so thankful to have owners understand the value of what our programs offers and lend their horses to us for sessions.

❤️🐴 HAY DAY AT HOPE ❤️🐴

Our volunteers worked hard moving several truck loads of hay of our HERD

We filled our HOPE horses barn with hay. We should have enough for awhile

The horses in pic our HOPE horses Griffin and Sunrise supervising the hay being moved in. And yes they got to try it right after the pic was taken.

As always HOPE is a 501(c)3 and relies on donations to keep our program thriving.

Meet one of our favorite HOPE HERD Horses

🐴 Griffin is a 23-year-old Quarter Horse with a calm and compassionate demeanor that has made him a beloved member of the barn. Griffin is a retired ranch horse who now enjoys a well-deserved, leisurely lifestyle. His days are spent relaxing in the sun, with his gentle nature making him a joy to be around for both people and other horses. Griffin’s quiet presence is particularly appreciated by his riders and students. He is a barn favorite.

Though his workload has lightened, his love for grazing in the pasture remains unwavering. Each day, he patiently waits by the gate, ready to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Griffin's caring and steady nature make him a cherished soul, bringing a sense of tranquility to those who spend time with him.

We love you Griffin and our so happy you are a part of our HOPE Herd !

Good morning our Hope friends!
Here is a picture of our trusty Hope truck!
We need new tires on it to be able to safely haul our Hope horses to their lessons.
They are 17” rims and we need mud and snow tires.
We have already had 2 generous donations toward them! So far we have $600.00!

🛞🛞Our HOPE truck tires need repair🛞🛞

We were shocked to discover after our Healing with HOPE Circle on New Years Day our truck tire got a screw in it! Our amazing volunteer Roy went to go put on our spare so we could take in for tire repair only to find out our spare was also damaged!
The exhaust has melted through the rubber to the steel belt on our spare ! So now we need to replace our spare tire ! And repair our other tire.

After further exam we really just need all new tires. They are so worn down; and the safety of our herd is most important.

This truck is how we get our HERD to our events and lessons. We can’t continue without this repair.

🎉🎉HAPPY 2025!🎉🎉

We were honored to have spent our day ringing in the New Year with all the participants of our New Year's Day Healing With HOPE

We filled our day with lots of horse time, healing time, and energy work. We ended each session with a Healing With HOPE Circle; our participants, instructors, volunteers and horses all shared a few breaths together to Bring in 2025!

We could not have thought of a better way to begin a NEW YEAR

Tonight we said goodbye to one of the best HOPE horses we have ever had. Bailey was always the first to meet us at the gate to come out of the pasture and wanted to come to work, she was a little spicy and very loving! She came to Hope Therapeutic riding program about 16 years ago. She had a special needs rider most of her life, and when her owner grew up graduated out of 4-H, she wanted to donate her to hope. She was such a perfect fit for our program. She’s going to leave a huge hole in our herd and be missed by absolutely everybody. Thank you Ruddell family for caring for her all these years. Thank you to our wonderful vet, Sandi Ferris, for sending her over the Rainbow Bridge with kindness, respect, and painlessly as well, we appreciate you so much. She was surrounded by her friends who loved on her, gave her her favorite cookies, and loved on her to send her on her way. Run free sweet Bailey!   Say hello to our other HOPE horses that have gone before you. Ike, Bandit, Woody, and Rosie!
