A client of mine has been working hard with her foster Indy!!

"Indy is a loving, sweet, and active girl who’s been staying with my husband and I, patiently waiting for her forever home. She's searching for someone ready to walk, play, and continue her training, as she loves to please people!

Indy has been working with a trainer and is excelling in a leash-reactivity class. She’s also enjoyed agility training, successfully completing the first two levels at High Octane Agility, and is currently in level 3 of Nosework, which she absolutely loves! These activities have been a fun and rewarding way to keep her engaged.

Indy currently lives with two neutered golden retrievers. She gets along well with our younger, calm, and submissive boy, but there have been food-related conflicts with our older dog. She would do best as the only dog in the home or with a compatible canine companion and a patient adopter willing to help her build trust. Indy has never shown aggression or resource guarding toward people.

Indy doesn’t have experience with cats and may be too excitable for young children due to her enthusiastic jumping and running. She’s used to being crated when left alone but would thrive in a home where crating isn’t required for long periods daily.

This sweet girl is looking for someone to provide her with the love and structure she needs, and in return, she’ll bring endless loyalty, affection, and joy to your life!"

Healthy dog play is reciprocal, they take turns, they take breaks, they check in to see how the other dog responds and if they liked it.

If dogs don't do these things on their own during play, they have to be taught how to pick up on social cues. Little Louie, starring in this video, has been working on his manners and building his confidence socially with help from me and Tail Spinz LLC the past few months...and I can say I am quite proud of the gentlemen he is today!

Raising toddlers, young children, and a puppy requires constant supervision (I remember the sleep deprivation all too well.)

Educate kids to respect dogs' boundaries and body language. Stop children from hugging dogs, taking food/bones, touching resting dogs, or putting their face in a dog's face.

Train your puppies and dogs to walk away from uncomfortable situations, and always give them access to a space where they know they will be left alone.
