September is Pet Pain Awareness, and at North Penn Animal Hospital, keeping your pet comfortable isn’t optional—it’s a priority. 🐾

Every surgery we perform includes advanced pain management to help your pet stay relaxed and pain-free before, during, and after their procedure.

We tailor pain relief to each pet and each surgery with Nerve Blocks and Epidurals:

☑️Orthopedic procedures: Always paired with an epidural or targeted nerve block.

☑️Dental extractions: Standard nerve blocks for a comfortable recovery.

☑️Neuters: Testicular blocks to minimize discomfort.

☑️Soft tissue surgeries: Local or regional blocks customized for the specific procedure.

Our certified veterinary technicians, specially trained in anesthesia and pain management, make sure these techniques are performed safely and effectively—taking care beyond standard practice.

We are happy to announce that a new doctor will be joining our NPAH team on October 8th! We know she will fit right in with you, our NPAH family!

Meet Dr. Lauren Celano!

Lauren Celano, VMD, MS, CVMA

Dr. Lauren Celano began her medical career as a biochemist in vaccine research for Merck and Co., Inc. While there, she earned a Master of Science degree in molecular biology from Lehigh University. Dr. Celano went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania and received her VMD. After graduating from UPenn, Dr. Celano completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and emergency critical care.

Dr. Celano has a special interest in internal and preventive medicine, dermatology, dentistry, surgery, pain management, and reducing fear and stress in her veterinary patients. She is Fear Free certified and is also certified in Veterinary Acupuncture. A “good day” for Dr. Celano is helping as many animals as she can.

In her free time, Dr. Celano enjoys spending time with her daughters and husband, cooking, and watching detective dramas. She adopts senior pets and cares for them in their later years, with her oldest dog living to the age of nineteen!

Last week we celebrated Spirit Week! 🎉A great time to give the NPAH team a bit of lighthearted fun and team bonding. 🤪🥸😆

Mismatch Day gets very creative! 😵‍💫 You never know what to expect. Some more fun with Rep Your Favorite Decade or, like Alexa, your Favorite Era! 👸

Wednesday brought out the fun and competitive nature of the team. Rain? We didn't care about a bit of rain! We had games (check out Dr. Rossi with the water gun!), cotton candy, and snow cones. 🌧🍧⛹️‍♀️🤸‍♀️

We are a high-quality, family-owned animal hospital that also has fun! 🐾❤

There have been so many posts lately of lost birds in several towns we are hoping this is one of them. We would like to get him/her reunited with the family. Happy National Dog Day! 🐶🐩🦮🐕‍🦺🐕

You're right, I'm a cat, but my brother Mack (that's him below) is a dog.

It's my job to keep him safe and my mom stress-free. Doesn't it always fall to the cat in the family? 😼

For National Dog Day, I have come up with some important Labor Day Pet Safety Tips to help with that.

🎆 Fact: More pets go missing during fireworks. Keep them inside in a quiet area.
📺Turn on a TV or radio to block out the sound.
🐕Walk your pet early before the festivities begin.
✅Check that their Microchip is registered and has up-to-date contact information.
🔎 Make sure they are wearing a snug collar with an ID tag that is clearly visible.
📸Take a current photo of your pet, just in case.
🚫Keep them away from the grill, alcohol, and food scraps such as high-fat BBQ leftovers.
💊Refill your pet's anti-anxiety medication before Labor Day, or call and talk to us for recommendations.
